that's not my point, the CLUB is taking seriously, I'm glad to say. It appears a few fans on here are advocating resting players due the lesser importance of the competition in their opinion.
I am yes. If Lambert is out for a while now, we are right up **** creek. Hopefully it's not too bad. We are so light on players atm I would definitely say a weakened team is the way forward
I don't hate any players, I suggested Lambert was better than Osvaldo which apparently means I absolutely detest Osvaldo. I also said that Jack Cork was equally as good as Wanyama, which again, of course, means I now hate victor Wanyama.
I think advocating resting players is reasonable after a run like we've just had, but that line where we still have a winning team, like (just) today. I think deep down we may even agree on this as I'm pleased it's being taken seriously too - but on the flip side, I can understand the longer term strategy (as can you of course), and also our current position. Much as right now, with this squad, realistically we're a little short, the same is true of the cup realistically, though of course anything can happen in a one-off game.
They can also get injured in league games you know, as proven by the fact that our players have got injured in league games. Those are games played in the league, in which injuries have occurred. Seeing how the next three rounds are all in the diary for those Saturdays/Sunday's we are not playing massively more games unless every round goes to a replay. Lambert is fine and anyway, could have sworn you were wanting him dropped from the team not long ago!
No, you drivel on about it despite any facts presented to the contrary. That's cool though, you carry on.
I agree, we need to invest in a couple of class back up CB's, and maybe a decent 2nd choice GK, but if we do they must be subject to careful scrutiny with regards to value for money and future prospects. Panic buying will only get you a crock of do-dos.
Agreed, I'm a 'modern fan', been watching saints reguarly for around ten years and it seems its many fans my age have the dream of alwats being a Prem club finishing the top half where we are never gonna break top 4. Personally my dream is to see my club win a major honour. The premiership comes and goes imo. Whats more remembered do people think? Skates winning the cup or our 2 uefa.games against steaua....
You are ok to keep expressing an opinion, but not to get steamed up if others disagree, that's pointless.
Really it wasn't "that" close. They scored and I feared the dreaded Saints collapse. It did seem on the cards for about 10 minutes. Their first goal was a well take headed, no arguments. Dreadful Jos and Kelvin for their second, but we came back and have to say bringing Lallana on spoke volumes . Davis worked his socks off, a certain gentlemen from Uruguay was okay to start with. Actually the first half was almost likes training session. Lambert was again off the pace, took a knock yet still was in a position to score a nice finish before being subbed. Overall, apart from a 10-15 min spell I wasn't even contemplating a loss! What I saw today, from some terrific seats, mirrors what I think the majority have mentioned before. The solidarity if our original back 4 plus Boruc cannot be replicated with our current replacements. When Fonte came on, surprisingly for Hooiveld at the time, he started shouting at the others. At least we looked about more organised. Unfortunately we are unlikely to ever see Kelvin at his peak anymore. Although Ramirez was better today, he just cannot play for us, in this division. Think it a real shame. Time will tell, if only we have time to burn. Edit - yes I know items a cup game and if you fixate on that you are missing the point or just plain daft ;-)
.. and still got it wrong, just shows 6 months isn't enough, our next signing will be in 7 months and a couple of days, perhaps, hope it's a good one.
