    Anyone think the club would have been much better off being truthful at the time and just saying "We're selling Andy Carroll for 35m. Obviously we know its not what you want to hear but we cannot refuse an offer of this size." I certainly do, why they persist with this laurel and hardy PR is hard to understand.

    This is definitely the main gripe .. they can come out with it now .. why not when he was sold .. good or bad news can be handled .. silence cannot
