Afternoon all 7.10 Kempton, DAFFYDOWNDILLY, one last chance for this one!! Have it doubled with FARHAAN (sorry for aftertiming) 11/2 looks a good price for Daffy, hope tonight is the night!!
Have backed two next at Salis - think Pimpernel is a nice price at 11/2 after good win last time out- and ELBE is a nice E.W bet - ran in one of best maidens when 6th behind Regal Realm, won nicely after but pulled too hard last time out when finishing last after being sent off odds on -hopefully run in to a place
Oddy I think you are writing off Russian War far too soon. I too was very much looking to seeing him making his chasing debut today and have followed him for over a year. I would use the term 'satisfactory' to describe that effort. Jumped well, traveled ominously well as always and although it was disappointing he didn't win I think there is much much more to come from him. Its possible the 3m 2f stretched him too much, the short run in after the last wouldn't have been advantageous and I think it was a case of Carberry thinking he had more horse left under him than he did coupled with not finding much when asked. He's very versatile in terms of trip so he could definitely drop back to better effect and I still wouldn't rule him out of the 3m races either. McCoy even said after the race that he didn't know how that would work out in terms of form as they went no gallop at all so I wouldn't look hugely into it. He won a listed race at Aintree back in April so hes clearly a very talented animal. The instruction for Carberry today would have been 'get him home in one piece' and that has been achieved. My belief in his ability has been very slightly tarnished today but not for one second would I completely desert him and I really think the best is yet to come from him. He's still firmly in my 10 to follow for the year and I think he's going to have a big year.
WOW - a hills treble!!!! Have a look at Hughes' ride on Dreamwriter, (not pocket talk, i backed Spencer) but he seemed very 'easy' on it
530 Sal: Woolfall Treasure is overpriced me thinks, as a CD winner with Mr Hughes in the plate! 2 for the RFC are Mystery Star and the Johnstone 3yo Colour Vision. Could pay well
Well done Oddy and Topper. Another no bet day for me....just couldn't bring myself to back R Hills once, never mind thrice!
Can't believe it - once again I do a shorties double and the odds on shot loses whilst the 2/1 wins easily. I give up
One I really really fancy tomorrow is 4.10 Haydock Amitola 22/1 for the Barron yard. Absolutely delighted with the price as I think its insane and I'll get a write up done later.
http://www.racingpost.com/horses/ho...=horse_pedigree&bottomHorseTabs=horse_entries look at this filly - hope we see her out on Saturday what a pedigree
Noticed that RV...what a blue blood she is...sort of chick I go for,no scrag end for the Dexter fella..
Richard hills ridden hot favourite Tanmawey has just been beaten in a close finish at Kempton by a 50-1 shot. He went to Kempton for that one ride, Ed Dunlop must be gutted he did not go straight home from Salisbury as the horse was backed in this morning quite heavily.
Bluesky...The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away..poor old Dickie Hills..hero to zero in a matter of minutes!
