Leaves us very light against Arsenal. Wonder if MP will start with Reed Gallagher etc rather than risk more injuries.
Personally, I would focus on the Yeovil game. Whilst I'd love us to beat Arsenal, I think that given injuries and suspensions it's not likely, plus it seems unlikely that we'll change position from where we are now. Therefore, I think a cup run would be quite nice, and keeps the excitement up for the season. Maybe not play all the first team, but enough of them for it to still be considered a strong side. I would like to see Gallagher play though, and he's proven that he knows where the back of the net is for the youth teams.
I agree. We should (can't believe I'm saying this) take a leaf out of Sunderland's book. They played pretty much a first team last night against Man Utd., even though they need every point they can get in the League.
Lets be honest our reserve players would probably beat them 9/10. That said they will have a big following and will raise their game. Can't be complacent but should win this comfortably.
I think we'll be well up for this. We're perennially 9th in the league, which is perfect for a cup run.
Right then, in light of recent news, I would go with... K. Davis; Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Shaw; Wanyama, Schneiderlin; Ward-Prowse, Lallana, Rodriguez; Do Prado.
I hope they are up for this, cos I am. Got in early and have excellent seats in the Itchen- and Mrs Fodder will be making one of her rare visits, so could we can keep the language descents guys....? I did ask whether I could have Nicola's seat since he won't be needing it, but I was told no Would like us to put out a strong team or at least a strong bench. This could be an interesting season. A win and another home tie- we might all start getting a bit interested.
I wouldn't risk Wanyama for this one. We dominate possession against the majority of premier league sides and I can't see a Yeovil side being too attacking and Wanyamas strength is breaking up the play. We will need a bit more vision in the midfield area. I'd like to see JWP given a chance in central midfield. He has done a decent job for the under 21s and although this would be tougher physically I think he has the ability to dictate the tempo alongside Cork. Fox in and stick Lallana on the bench for emergencies
