Opened the game very brightly, and perhaps should have had two or three within the first thirty minutes. Swansea then bossed most of the remainder of the game, had a couple excellent chances denied by the post and Boruc, and then after an inexplicably waved-off Wanyama goal (off a corner that should have been a goal kick, and the ref knew it) Rodriguez scored on a woeful bit of defending. Pretty scruffy, but a solid win.
Ramirez had problems last season, so didn't play much. Mauricio doesn't want to play him either...he has hardly got a sniff. It doesn't matter how good he is or not, he is not going to play under Pochettino, so surely must move on soon. It makes me sad as I want all Saints players to succeed, but I think it is time to cut our losses and enable him to go where he is wanted.
As can I, and I don't really blame him; guessing when there was transfer speculation that he was given assurances that he was in the plans, and now he isn't even making the squad. Again, I really think that -- Poch's understandable desire to keep a good thing going aside -- that we need to work some of these players in, because otherwise they're going to want out at the earliest opportunity.
Seems strange, he looked fine in the standard "look how happy we all are" image gallery that was posted on friday.
Those order & collect take-away curries can be cooked quite quickly these days. And if he had to go across town to a favourite place...
Mauricio's job is to win games and get us as high up the table as possible...he is doing that. The PL is too important to give a game to a player to keep him happy. It cannot be a coincidence that two managers have not picked Ramirez. It's not to say he is a bad player, just that he may not be our type of player. Mistakes are made by all teams when buying players...if he is hardly going to play for us, move him on. Best all round.
Could have been that he had some kind of family emergency or some such to attend to and got called away late, could also easily have just been a strop from being left off the bench, but still, let's not jump to the worst-case scenario conclusions straight away, eh?
I called Ramirez being a massive waste of money halfway through last season. Gives me no pleasure to realise it's true though
But the same is true of Yoshida and Cork...Yoshida has yet to appear in the league, Cork has come on twice in the 89th and 90th minutes. Both will be off if they don't get time, and they're difficult players to replace.
