He played 45 against sunderland and then the full 90 midweek, whereas fox had only played the full 90 midweek. Fox was picked ahead of clyne despite having less match preparation although its possible Clyne may have pulled up more sore than they expected. Its fair to say that Pochettino rates Fox and for some unknown reason seems to prefer him to clyne at leftback. Hopefully he was just protecting clyne last time but they had a 14 day break afterwards and he didn't have to play the full 90 midweek.
Yep, us Jacks hate him, never gives us anything, so not expecting him to change today. So that will be over 50 + games without a pen.
Not sure about Clyne on the left as he didn't seem as keen to take it down the wing, preferring to attempt to cut inside. I would have rather seen him use his pace like he does down the right and attempt a left footed cross, even if it didn't work all the time, then come into an already packed middle. Therefore I could understand it if Fox was to be played left-back ahead of putting Clyne that side. Obviously this was based on the one time I saw him at left back, and I believe he wasn't fully fit, so it might be different if he plays there today.
Only good news from the teams is that Swansea are still playing with their apparently suspect defence due to injuries. Not happy about fox being picked ahead of chambers, clyne would be ideal to deal with dyer's pace. Fox will struggle if we don't protect him even then he's going to have to front up by himself at some point.
