I can remember when young, I could just turn over and go back to sleep. Now, you wake up, you're up. Shame, i'd love to lie in, especially as being unconscious I wouldn't be aware that Saints are playing today Must be brave. COYR
It's 6:15am here...still haven't slept. Saints at 11, have to work until 1am. They better win, or this is going to be a looooooong day.
Don't think I'll be watching Soccer Saturday, Merse is doing our game so will inevitably back us to get hammered and be continuously negative throughout the game and probably ramble on about how we should have signed Owen.
This all reminds me of a lengthy argument with my friend about what is better - food or sleep. PS. Nigel's fightback starts today. That is all.
TBF todays youngsters have a lot more pressure on them, more homework, more things to worry about like facebook, and phones, the media and advertisers are able to wield much more power, parents are home less, there is less room to play, they are exposed to alcohol and drugs earlier, and sex is wherever they want to find it. These aren't necessarily bad things but I think young people are at a higher risk of doing stupid and harmful things particularly with relatively new technologies like social media. I don't have any statistics but I would imagine suicides in young people and levels of depression are far higher than 30 years ago in most developing countries. Sorry for going off topic but kick off seems like ages away.
Loving the positivity since gomarchingin has been banned I'm feeling quite confident of a win today, for only the second time this season (first was Wigan, and look how that turned out!!!!)
I hope you are right and I am wrong - can see this being a closer defeat than recent matches given the away form of Swansea - but they do have goals in them - so I see us only conceeding two goals today - but we have no current form in front of goal so suspect we will only get the one goal. Please prove me wrong Qwerty!
Why was GMI banned? Yeah he was depressing and stupid but I didn't think they were bannable offences?
Understand he was overly abusive top some-one. He was very clever at just keeping on the right side of the line most of the time so the mods could not act. Personally I think this forum is a better place without him!
Swansea missing some big players today! They've been lucky in recent weeks and much like us, they pass it round the back with not very much end product. Can see home advantage and their lack of Vorm and Chico Flores seeing us win 2-0! COYR
John Motson at St Mary's Stadium for BBC Radio 5 live"I've spent time with Southampton boss Nigel Adkins this morning. He says what a lot of people don't realise is of their first 10 games, eight were against the top eight clubs. One of the things Adkins is looking for is for his defence to tighten up. They can score goals but they keep conceding. But Jack Cork is back in the squad today, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him back in the starting XI. And I don't think we've yet seen the best of their record signing, Gaston Ramirez.
Hopefully Cork can provide some much-needed protection to the back four. I think we've really missed him so far this season. Blackmore reckons Puncheon will be involved too and it seems everyone expects Shaw to start. Sounds like it could be an interesting team today, with a few changes from recent games.
Another adventurous-looking line-up. Gazzaniga Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Shaw Cork, Schneiderlin Puncheon, Ramirez, Lallana Lambert
