Segar is abit too young (is there an age where a player is too young and does he have to have a professional contract?), when he gets a squad number then we will know he is in with a sniff, Sinclair is above him in the pecking order. Hoskins, Chambers,Isgrove. Robinson and Gape are all youth players registered with first team numbers.
I don't think you can be too young as such, and you don't need a pro contract (as far as I'm aware anyway) - a scholarship is fine Correct me if I'm wrong though!
You're not that good buddy. And please, ****e as we are, it's just plain cruel to associate us with Scottish football.
Have to say saw the Celtic stats loast night and Barca had over 900 passes and 20+ attempts. On another day they could have won by 10! No disrespect to Celtic though they were immense on the night.Turning to important things and I'm feeling really good about tomorrow. COYR!
This is a game that's had me worried, but I have to say I take a lot of encouragement from the fact that some of you guys are so positive about this one. I think you've been unlucky so far this season coming up against a lot of the top sides. However, the difference between the likes of Man utd or Man city and Swansea is the fact that they could have possibly taken you for granted. I can guarantee Swansea will not be taking anything for granted. We do play better as underdogs, so more than happy for the Saints to be going into this one as favourites for the 3 points. Hope you stay up though, so good luck after this game
Had a belting football manager save with Southampton so have always had a good spot for your team since then (not sure if that's enough of a reason mind you).. But I think it's great that both sets of fans are so positive of a result, will no doubt make it a very intense game and a great atmosphere. An early swans goal will get them all nervy an jittery so from there I can see us winning comfortably 4-0. Even if we conceded first I'm still confident we can turn it around. Here's to a good game
Fair enough. But the way I see it, the longer the season goes on with you being bottom of the league and conceeding the goals you have, the more pressure that's gonna be applied to your team and manager. Just an opinion.
I sense a turning this week. Nigel is back in positive mood and the club are united beghind him. The fans were brilliant at West Brom and will help roar us to 3 points tomorrow. That said I have a lot of time for Swansea so best of luck, after tomorrow!
I've said from the start this is going to be a cracking match. Southampton will be fighting tooth and nail for a home victory while the Swans are in good form and will be looking for three points. May the best team win, although it is looking more and more like a draw
I think we'll win 2-1, goals from Lambert & Ramirez! This is the team I would play: --------Gazzaniga-------- Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw ----Schneiderlin JWP ---- Puncheon---------Lallana ----------Ramirez-------- ----------Lambert-------- Subs: K.Davis, Hooiveld, Cork, S.Davis, Mayuka, Rodriguez, Fox
Personally I think that we should stop trying to chase these games ( the tactics away to West Brom particualarly were suicidal) and try to identify weaknesses in the opposition and focus on them. As a result, I'd go with Boruc/Gazza (deoending on who Adkins sees as long term 1st choice) Clyne Yoshida Fonte Shaw Shneiderlin Davis JWP Ramirez Lallana Lambert Match them in midfield, battle for possesion and try to expose them down the flanks whilst keeping the shape in the middle. If we can get Ramirez one on one with Ben Davis with Clyne overlapping that should be a good source of attack. We can beat Swansea but I hope NA does't try to go too gung ho and play forwards out of position on leave us open in the middle/down teh flanks.
We also need to start scoring again...one goal in last three games is not good enough without being rock solid in defence.
Thankfully Swansea are carrying a couple of injuries esp in defence and to thier keeper who impressed the hell out of me last season, apart from Richardson we are at full strength if Cork is back so I am going for 3-1 witha Rickie hattrick
See that the squad have gone to The Four Seasons for a couple of days (according to the Echo). Bit of spoiling that is the equivalent of an arm round the shoulders. Let's hope the change of scene gets the right result.
