Seriously, we're ****. We have possibly the worst defence the Premier League has ever seen. Apart from that we're okay.

Which is why we were beating Man City and Man United. We genuinely have the quality to beat any team in the premier league at home.

The key word being "were". We were, but we didn't because our defence is ****.

You can't argue that up until now our defence is the worst in PL history. We will turn this around though starting on Saturday!

Against man united Van Persie, perhaps the best striker in the world, stole the game, and against Man City we were beating a team that went the whole of last season without losing at home. Quite clearly we are not ****. Although we have been let down by individual mistakes by defenders who can play very ****.

Artur Boruc is now back in contention, and the squad are going away for a couple of days before Saturday to be in a different environment

    Team for Saturday I reckon

    Boruc
    Clyne fonte yoshida fox
    Cork Morgan
    Puncheon Ramirez lallana
    Lambert

With the thoughts on Shaw, Adkins will want to nurture him in slowly

Surely we should stick with Gazza in goal. Too much chopping and changing!

Swansea could be the perfect game for Shaw to be tried. Yes, they have quality wide, but at least he shouldn't have to face a physical beating aswell, against either Rowtledge or Dyer.

Like he did with Ward-Prowse you mean. Oh hang on, he started him against Man City in our first game of the season!

I also believe JWP should be playing. We have missed his energy since he's been out.

I agree. Davis should be dropped on Saturday - he had a shocker on Monday.

I am no expert but i cant be doing with this nuturing business - if they are good enough and mature enough get them in the team. Not sure that Davis should be dropped after one very sub-standard performance but I agree get JWP and Shaw in the team - however surely our man Nigel and his staff know them all inside out and what the best team to face Swansea is going to be.
Shaw was only on for a short while on Monday night but at least he showed in that short time that he could catch his man and tackle him.

Although it did happen well inside the penalty area and it was a lunging tackle which is not the best senario for our last defender to be in. I would play 4141 with two wide men in Reeves and Mayuka to help out Clyne and Shaw, its not a negative formation but in adds defendive cover, we need to start conceeding less (we are conceeding less than 3 goals a game) so were getting better.

Don't think this is anything to do with Saturdays game or not, but JWP, Chambers and Jack Stephens have been withdrawn from the England-Under19 squad

I reckon there is a chance of JWP getting a look in after Davis' last performance.

    Hopefully!

In other news, Richardson isn't in contention for this weekend, but will play for Under-21s this Monday

I think this will be an entertaining game with two teams that like to attack but have shown frailty at the back during the season and probably the Saints more so than the Swans but seeing your home i think a 2-2 is a decent shout at the end of the match..
