We have to be realistic about this. The TV companies are all out to maximise their ratings and advertising revenue. They will always give the clubs with the biggest global following the majority of the live matches. I would, however, like to see the viewing figures for the non-Sky and BT games which are shown live around the world by BeIn, Setanta, and NBC. Practically all of Saints' games are shown on one or other of these channels and are also of course available on streams. It would be interesting to see just how many people around the world choose to watch Saints live on TV. The other side of this of course is that the problem is being addressed indirectly by Saints by building the global brand that is Southampton FC. We might never be the world's largest sports brand that is Machester United, but if we could get into the same sort of league position as, say, Spurs or Everton, we might just start attracting a similar following as those clubs, which would boost the demand for live games. There again, should this be something we want, as I am sure that the majority of fans who actually go to matches would rather they were at 3:00 pm on a Saturday?
Australian Saints fan just been interviewed...he took 40 hours (with waiting time) to get here and arrived here at 7.45 am on Saturday so watched the game in a blur. Sky said that Sunderland must have arrived with him judging by how they played. His name was read out at half time, so that's how he got Bertrand's shirt. Normally has to watch matches at 2 am at home. Now labelled our good luck charm...he is here for the Stoke game.
The Guardian have Jack, big Vic and Dusan in their team of the week. But then they also have Zamora in ahead of Graziano so...

Mayuka has been talking about getting some game time: I think this guy has a great attitude and I really hope he develops into a regular here. Would be easy to sulk, but he just gets on with it.
Not sure if posted elsewhere but sky sports ran some quick quotes from Dusan about everything http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11661/9525554? I'm sure Southampton will seem even more beautiful after he visits Stoke next week.
Did you see this bit? Tadic, who made history by becoming the first player in the club’s history to provide four assists in one game, told Kurir: “Being in a club with players like (Jose Antonio) Reyes, (Cesc) Fabregas, (Dennis) Bergkamp and (Emmanuel) Adebayor (who have achieved a similar feat) is a phenomenal feeling. Umm???
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20141021-toby-alderweireld-post-sunderland-home-2028826.aspx Interview with Toby where he quite rightly points out that whilst 8-0 was great, it wasn't perfect and you can fall quickly. He is correct of course, it is all about the next game now. Wonderful day, 3 points, now onto the Stoke game. Stoke will arrive determined not to give us a foothold in the game...I'm sure they will be aware that preventing the first goal is essential. I think it has 0-0 written all over it.
