Footballorgin have been quick today. 90 minutes are here. Watch out for any stray adverts. I do like that Barclays Premier League theme. : http://www.footballorgin.com/2014/09/premier-league-2014-2015-southampton-v.html
What a strange game. Didn't think we hit the heights we did second half at west ham but they were bloody awful. Special mention to Williamson...Christ he was poor
Barring a little spell towards the end of the first half, I'm not sure we could have played much better. One first half dally from Bertrand aside, the back five were completely solid. And that despite Lovren, Shaw and Chambers all moving on, and Boruc being moved aside. For the guys to perform like that is very impressive. A caveat to all of that though is Newcastle. They were bad, they were really bad. Not quite as bad as they were when they came last season, but still very bad. Pardew deserves the sack just for thinking that Haidara and Williamson are capable of playing in the PL (and I think I recall saying that after last season's game too!!) No idea who my man of the match is. Davis was my man of the first half, but his impact lessened I though in the second half when his role changed (but interestingly, I thought that following that change, with Vic coming on in the middle, our performance stepped up even further). I'm a mahoosive Cork fan, but I actually thought he was pretty quiet today. I did celebrate his goal though more than I have done so for any other goal for quite some time.
How the hell can rule that ball in favour of Krul instead of Long is beyond me. His fist got no where near the ball.
@SchneiderlinMo4: Well done to the team today for a good performance and a great résult ! And thanks to the fans for this amazing support
Having been at work for the whole day, I was thrilled to find out the score. really good times at the moment and may they continue for a long time !
This Newcastle United fan is hilarious and very, very tragic at the same time:
Apologies if it's already been mentioned I on here, but I see that the BBC's interview with Pardew has the score caption of Southampton 0 Newcastle 1 (about 10 seconds in). That's not even a typo.
That was one of many strange decisions by Foy. One of the worst refereeing performances since the last time he was at St Mary's.
'Alan Pardew circling the drain after heavy defeat to Southampton' - Irish Independent written by Simon Peach. Never seen it put that way before!
Well I've just seen the whole first half again, and Newcastle were miles better than they were last season. They even had more possession than Saints. They just did very little with it. Now to watch the second half again, if I can find somewhere that does it. Footballorgin have only put the first half as yet.
So did I. Just finished it. I didn't realise as they usually put up the whole 90 mins in one go. Sometimes they put up two separate halves. Looks like we'll have to wait for that. Or watch a 30 second 2nd half on MOTD.
