I do like how Chambers, despite being tall, has good feet and is good at taking on the full back with his twists and dummies.
All those crosses must've been in cup games then. From when he came back it took about 4 games of passing back to Davis before he did put a cross in and........we scored. I had been moaning about him never crossing prior to that. Not sure on the reality of those stats though. Not questioning the figures you have given just like with other stats its more how do they come to calculate them. It is pretty obvious from watching that Chambers is more of a threat and also obvious he isn't as good as Clyne at defending but hey ho
Yes I watched that last night. A few points, I knew exactly the pass you meant, and I thought it was superb too. There's a very decent midfielder lurking within Chambers. He's certainly got the eye for a pass, and we know RB is just one of the positions he can play. No doubt you noticed all the mucking about with the video, as you watched it, and also that, in general, the video and audio were something like 3 minutes out of sink, most of the time. Then I discovered that the 2nd half was just a reposted 1st half [ther is no 2nd half of that match on that website], so what what I did was play the video of one, full screen, with the sound muted, and the other one audio only, but synchronised. It worked most of the time except when someone had obviously farted around with the stream and sent my synched pair out again temporarily. Better than a kick up the backside though.
As far as I'm concerned every aspect of Clyne's game is superior to Chambers' other than contesting aerial duels, something that isn't very important for a right back. I would be starting with Clyne every time over Chambers. This is not me saying that Chambers is a bad player. They are both good players. But Clyne is better for me and still only 22. He shouldn't be left on the bench just because Chambers is younger.
I'm sure his age isn't a consideration. Mauricio must see something in Chambers that he doesn't see in Clyne at least for some games...all opinions I know, but the manager has the opinion that counts.
I feel like Chambers right now is more of a bomb-down-the-wing-and-play-a-cross kind of player, whereas Clyne plays almost like another midfielder. Clyne will play 1-2's and try to cut to the middle and things like that. I felt like when he and Puncheon played together, they were nearly interchangeable on offense and either one might be farther forward or farther wide at any time. Maybe I'm wrong about that. I find it difficult to believe that Chambers is superior to Clyne, but I certainly can't complain about his performance against Arsenal. Maybe he is better, just kind of hard to wrap my head around that.
Squad game and all that. Clyne may be carrying a niggling injury- he has had issues this season. Both are fantastic players- clyne a bit quicker and his experience shows. Not to say Chambers won't end up the better player when mature. In short I go for clyne ATM, though not by that much.
take it into context though. Chambers only payed at 0-0. Clyne's assist was once we were in front. Whos to say that Chambers wouldn't have been a bit more attacking once we were in the lead? Great goal though
