Central midfield for me should include Cork as well as Snidders and Victor (if fit) giving a real solid strength in the centre where Arsenal will try and dominate. How can anyone suggest we drop Cork when he has been MotM over the lady couple of weeks? Unfortunately I would move Davis onto the bench as he has done little wrong but hasn't been as influential as Cork
I'm not sure what you've seen of Cork to rate him so highly. He's seemed little more than adequate to me.
Yes, I find absolutely no justification of any dropping of Cork based on how well he has done since coming back on. The amount of times he has either been my MOTM, or only just been beaten to MOTM. I've gone on record on here recently saying that there would be games where I'd happily want to see Morgan, Cork and Wanyama all in the midfield together. This Tuesday would be one of them, if Wanyama is fit enough. And tbh, if Wanyama is fit and MP wants him back in, but does not want to switch formation, then for me it should Morgan who makes way. Nothing about that brilliant Frenchman at all, but, as I say, you cannot drop Cork.
All 3 of them won't work. Pochettino has his style and there's no doubt Wanyama and Morgan are the better players.
Well I'd like to see it tried. I believe that Morgan can play the advanced role. I like seeing him burst into the box.
Arsenal will dominate possession. They'll have 21 shots with 13 on target. We'll win 2-1 scoring our only two shots in the game.
Adequate, that's not a word I'd use to describe JC. He might not have the presence of Victor, but he does posse some qualities that big Vic does not demonstrate too well. His short passing isn't just more accurate, its faster, which benefits the team when breaking forward. We were really lucky to have him waiting in the wings when VW got injured, that position would have caused us real trouble & definitely cost us points. I know that VW will walk back into the team, but I hope we can keep JC happy, for me he's a big part of our squad.
It might be because Wanyama's not been next to him, but Schneiderlin hasn't looked his absolute true self for some time. Davis should be dropped, if anyone, because as good as he's played, he's had an iffy last few games. I'd like to see Morgan played further forward and Wanyama to play next to Cork, who's been our best CM for the last month or so.
It certainly seems to be our style! We have it in us to pull a fast one on the opposition about once a season. Last Season it was away to Villa, season before it was away to Leeds. This season, at home to Arsenal? Please.
Well, away from the biased views (both ways) of our fans, he won MOTM from BT Sport for our last game (given by Michael Owen, IIRC), so someone independent seems to be seeing something in him. Vin
Boruc Clyne Fonte Maya/Jos Shaw Cork Wanyama Lallana Morgan Jrod Lambert I would like this a lot against the big guns.
Its unfortunate for cork but there shouldn't be any need for 3 cdms. Wany and scheid should be enough, playing cork too means one of lamb, jrod, lallana or Davis/jwp won't play. This will thwart our attack as mentioned above we will get thrashed playing so defensively.
