I'm gonna be super positive and predict a 5-2 southampton victory with the goals shared between Punch.Lambert and Gaston. Boruc to have a howler first goal rolls between his legs taibi style then he gives away a penalty and gets a straight red card.

Tomorrow's game seems to be Aston Villa v someone else. All the pressure is on them, I like that. Here's what I reckon it will be.

    Boruc
    Clyne Yoshida Hooiveld Shaw
    Cork Schneiderlin
    Rodriguez Ramirez Puncheon
    Lambert

Subs: Davis Richardson Fox S.Davis Ward-Prowse Guly De Ridder

Assuming all injuries as expected. Can't really decide between J.Rod and Guly, either way is fine by me, gives us an option to change the front four. I'm feeling confident, which worries me.

Jeff Sterling described it as Villa's biggest ever game. That seems a bit over the top to me. But I do enjoy an 'American build up' occasionally.........just not when we are playing! Arrgh

Bent officially ruled out, which is a surprise to nobody who has been following his story.

Although they will be more hard working without him, I'm glad he's not playing. He gets a one chance, he often takes it.

This rumour might be true, and I've certainly seen it mentioned a lot (£7million, rather than £5million, is what I've heard), but I personally don't buy it.

If true, then Lambert would have known right from the start that Bent only had X number of games to go until this payment. So why use some of them up on substitute appearances? Surely he would want to maximise each and every one of them?

That said, it certainly cannot be denied that he is out of favour for one reason or another. Even if he'd been fit for tomorrow, I'd have been surprised to see him start.

If it's not true, then why give him run outs in cup games only for him to suspiciously "pick up another knock" before league games? Even if the transfer clause isn't true (it makes a lot of sense, so I buy it) then something that's stopping him from playing is going on.

Tbf, I don't think Lambert would have subbed him off against Bradford - not long after subbing him on - just to make it look like he'd picked up another knock.

You maybe right though, I don't know. I guess time may well tell.

If there isn't anything suspicious behind it, then Bent's made of glass so is basically worthless anyway.

Looking forward to tomorrow. Been to Villa Park before (no, not for that game). It was a dour 1-0 loss to Villa in the pouring rain where Kevin Phillips missed from 2 yards out. Very keen to eradicate that memory with a much better one tomorrow.

Totally agree as he talks out of his backside. the article has him slating Villa and saying they have problems all over the pitch. He then follows it with the fact that Saints have stuttered a bit in the past few weeks and this game is certainly a winnable one for Villa. I wouldn't say us losing twice in the last ten games and conceding nine in the last ten league games is stuttering. As you say, an AWFUL pundit!

After reading his predictions during the 90's, I must say, I find him amusing now. He tipped us to go down every season, must often bottom. I think the first season he didn't predict us to go down was 2004/05. D'oh.

Really excited for this one, missed the last game totally - knew we were 0-1 down then got a text to say 4-1 from my brother at FT.

Cleared the schedule for tomorrow afternoon so I can watch the game live.
