Bathurst is completely unsuitable for modern F1. A big no!

  2. LOL I like the one about Dunsfoldring. Had to look it up before I realised that the Three Stooges would have to be commentators for the GP program - no thanks ;) I would love a London GP though but perhaps this may not find favour with most Londoners.

OK back to your original question. Only the Spanish circuits could be rotated. Bathurst is too dangerous and you would never get it to comply with the new regulations before bankrupting New South Wales. You couldn't rotate the Italian GP since Imola is already the circuit for the San Marino GP. It was used in 1980 though for the Italian GP. I'm not sure why they used Imola that year except perhaps as a dress rehearsal for the San Marino GP which came into being from 1981. Unless there is a Middle Eastern GP, again here you have two circuits serving the GPs of two different nations, Sakhir serves the Bahrain GP and Yas Marina the Abu Dhabi GP.

    Cheers

That's a bit harsh. Bahrain has never produced exciting races but apart from 2010 the Bahrain Grand Prix hasn't been that bad. It isn't easy but there are overtaking opportunities available.

    2manylotuses,

Imola is a great track and I'd like to see it back on the calendar but Monza is a classic circuit and a very important part of the history of F1. The calendar is already congested but if Bernie insists on keeping a "European Grand Prix" it should be held in different European countries. Why not have Imola and A1 Ring/Magny-Cours taking turns to host the European Grand Prix?

I agree with the rotation of Barcelona and Valencia, although I wouldn't complain if they were both removed from the calendar. Sadly, Valencia is contracted to host to the European Grand Prix for a few more years.

Well if they had kept the track layout of 2010, it would be a snore fest. Let's see how it does with the DRS, but overall, it's not a really good track IMO.

As for the Valencia/Barcelona issue. I don't get why there wouldn't be a Spanish Grand Prix on the calendar. Just drop Valencia for good, and keep Barcelona, as the teams like it as it is a good test track and this year's race wasn't that bad apart from the poor DRS zone.(next year it should be earlier as soon as the final corner ends, not at the start/finish straight).

Valencia is a bore fest, even with DRS.

Yeah, so it would make sense to drop it, and keep Barcelona.

Monza and Imola are two tracks that should be on the same calandar! Bahrain is boring and so is abu Dhabi so that is where my vote will go

I think they should just scrap both Bahrain and Valencia altogether. Bahrain has never produced a really good race and with all the stuff going on in Bahrain there really does not seem a benefit whatsoever to go there. Even with the new 2011 regs Valencia was still coma inducing, game over. I think Abu Dhabi have got to be given a chance with the 2011 regs, it is certainly a spectable with the hotel and being a day/night race so I am more than happy to give it another chance especially that they are prepared to make changes to the track if it is still hard to overtake with the 2011 regs.

This is how I would like to see the 2012 calendar:

    1. Australia
    2. Malaysia
    3. China
    4. Korea
    5. Barcelona
    6. Turkey
    7. Monaco
    8. Canada
    9. USA
    10. Silverstone
    11. Germany
    12. Hungary
    13. Spa
    14. Monza
    15. Singapore
    16. Suzuka
    17. India
    18. Abu Dhabi
    19. Interlagos

I agree with that, but probably not in that order.

All I want is for the boring tracks to be dropped for good and on the top of that list is Valencia, I only watch it because it is important to the championship points wise, and I'll bet my mothers life that the BBC get all the boring races next year

With that list, get rid of Abu Dhabi (dont really care if it gets a good race this year, its still crap) and it will be perfect, just need A1 ring for the European GP.

tbh the middle-east have so much money that instead of designing a new track they should just copy one of the classics instead.

A logistics nightmare there PMC. Keep USA and Canada together. Id slot India into race slot 4 as well disposing Barcelona to slot 5. Get Korea out of the middle of the European season to slot beside or between Sinagpore and Suzuka

My fantasy calendar would look something like this:
    1.Australia
    2.Brazil
    3.Malaysia
    4.China
    5.Spain
    6.Monaco
    7.Turkey
    8.Canada
    9.Britain
    10.Germany
    11.Europe
    12.Belgium
    13.Hungary
    14.Italy
    15.Japan
    16.India
    17.Abu Dhabi
    18.USA
    19.Singapore
I'd love a season finale in Singapore and i've moved Brazil forward beause we need more exciting flyaway races in the first part of the season.

Yeah I agree. I didn't think about that. Put USA right after Canada, but as for Korea I would change it now to after Monza. As for India I think keep it towards the end of the season because if you put it during the opening months, it will be as hot as hell.
