Good initial post. Pearson is gelling together a bunch of promising young players, using a limited budget and it takes time. There are glimmers of hope there. Pearson has been trying to get City to play the ball on the ground, a refreshing change from the teams of the past, I hope he stays true to this. A few changes, a couple of goals and the confidence will come flooding back. I know when I play football, we all respond better to encouragement than negativity. UTT !!
The only time booing is acceptable is if its blatently obvious that the players aren't putting in 100% effort. If the players are giving 100% effort and things just aren't quite working, which is the case at the minute then booing is achieving nothing but sapping confidence and thats when players can go hiding and not wanting the ball because they don't wanna make a mistake.
Good post mate. Yesterday was very disappointing and there's no disguising it. But the team and NP deserve the chance to put things right against Reading. I'm hoping yesterday will act as a big wake up call to the team and NP and with a few more sigings hopefully in store we may hopefully see an improvement. It may only take one good result to get us up and running look at Leeds at West Ham today for example. Although I back NP, more performances like yesterday then come Christmas it would make his position as manager very difficult.
Congratulations 4Tiger - post of the season so far! Just shows how a bit of common sense and perspective isolates the idiots among us.
If it's okay for fans to boo players, then it must be equally alright for the manager or players to be scathing about poor atmosphere/support from fans. Would it make you support better if they did? What if someone spent the 90 minutes sat behind you bellowing half arsed comments in your ear about what a rubbish supporter you are? Would it drive you to cheer louder and more enthusiastically? If people groaned and called you hopeless every time you posted a comment on here, would it make you post more or less? Perhaps I've got the wrong definition of "supporter"?
I like Nigel Pearson and i think he is doing a decent job. so we havent had such a good start but so what.. we wont finish below 12th im sure of that.. and no one could have come to Hull City and waved a magic wand to give us promotion when we where in the ****.. All teams win some and lose some and have **** games.... its not the end of the world and its not the end of the season by along way.. Nigel Pearsons Black and Amber Army...
Boo or not, Adam Pearson will be thinking long and hard about NP. Now past experience will count and we'll see just how much NP is rated. I would like to see NP given time to get the team into the top half of this league and push for promotion, if it takes a couple of seasons then so be it. But, football has changed wether you like it or not. If we continue to struggle and find ourselves in the bottom positions of the league, how long can we afford to back NP?? The financial implications of relegation to League 1 will may not be as big as the relegation from the Prem, but it would seriously effect the club. I think we need to get the right players in before the transfer window closes because NP could lose his job if we don't. Time is a very costly thing in football, so how much will NP be given if were still struggling at the end of September? Hopefully we do get the right players in and things pick up.
Agree with u there geo. i think Nigels been a bit naive and too cautious with his tactics, needs to learn to be more adventurous and maybe let our opponents worry about us a bit more than we worry about them, Palace at home with an injury list of about 7, we should not be playing a 451, with a defensive midfielder. Take stock of the first 4 games, and go out and get what the team needs and for crying out loud be more adventurous
On saturday i thought the fans spent most of the game trying to support the team i can only remember two lots of boos that was brady coming off and full time .Even at half time one down i didnt hear any boos when they walked off so come on dont make this out to be worse then it is.We are no diffrent to any other team in any league that is finding it hard at the start of the season. If you never went on saturday for whatever reason and you read this thread you would think it was a 90min booing session.
In a barren run that dates back to last season, the Tigers have delivered just one win in 10 home games and Rosenior can understand their frustrations. "I wouldn't blame the fans at all," he added. "A lot of people don't have a lot of money at the moment and they pay a lot of money to come and watch football and for us to win games for them." "I thought they were fantastic, they stayed with us right until the end. "There were a few boos at the end but you can't argue with that. We didn't beat a team that I thought we were better than all over the pitch." Liam Rosenior
Which shows that Liam's far brighter than the boo boys. By your post you're acknowledging that positive feedback is the solution and negativity a problem. Consider the reaction had Liam said the boo boys were tossers and not welcome at the KC.
No, by my post im acknowledging that the players "can't argue" with the boos as it is deserved sometimes. I also think that the boo's are not necessarily aimed at the players themselves, more at the current situation and the results.
Interesting. So do you think if we'd boo'd JB more when he was playing but quite clearly not arsed, he might have made more of an effort? By your reasoning, people like you blowing smoke up his arse could have made him think he WAS actually worth what we paid him and we appreciated his "effort", or lack thereof. Did you boo him when he played ****e? Also, do you advocate clapping/cheering a good team/individual performance? Would you do that? 4T quite possibly the best post I've read on these forums.
That may be your intention, but the reality is that you're confirming that positive feedback (a player on a public interview seems to be agreeing with you) works whereas negative feedback (had he called the boo boys tossers and a waste of oxygen) would have had a very different and less positive reaction. I'm sure Liam knows this too, so it's probable that's why he said it, rather than believing it to be the truth. Booing rarely, if ever, benefits the team.
100% AGREED. Pity that saturdays Reading game cannot be switched to the Majeski. Saturday was great football BUT with No End product. NP needs to address the scoring situation. It was a problem last season and is is NP ONLY problem this season. FFS....its only 4 games gone. Yes its frustrating but thats all. Patience is the key as always. UTT
