I like him, he's sound, did you see how embarrassed he looked when he scored that goal last season <laugh>

Thought Santon might have shone tonight with it being his birthday, probably his worst game for us. Didn't even come to applaud the fans at the end of the game, first time he hasn't done that.

The glare from Howard's head stopped me from seeing a lot of the highlights / lowlights. Bit of a disappointing game after such a good start.

    Another poor performance all told.

The Everton referee Martin Atkinson killed us pretty much by deciding that Phil Neville's challenge on Shola in the box wasn't a foul, whereas the 'challenge' by Tiote on microphone head was... free kick was world class but should never have been given :emoticon-0119-puke:

New players needed as the ones we have are simply not good enough this season - it's all very well awaiting Cabaye and Ben Arfa back, but what guarantees that they can stay fit or hit form in what is a poor team.

Pardew isn't hitting any of the right notes on a footballing level - I just hope people feel compensated by his excellent television manner. <ok>

    The Everton referee Martin Atkinson

Might have been tonight, but he's one of the most despised refs amongst the blues. He owed us a good 20 decisions to be honest.

I think Pardew's decision to play Cisse on the wing lost you the game. Why on Earth you'd play a striker to defend against Leighton Baines I don't know.

One or two baffling things at the moment. Pard's seems to be out of the loop some of the time.

He probably played him there In the same thought that Moyes seems to put Anichebe wide to flood midfield but as you say If Cisse aint use to doing It he gonna struggle against Baines and Pienaar

Thought it was a very naive performance from the players last night. We got an early goal and then seemed to frantically push at 100mph to get more. As such we squandered possession regularly, got out of shape and generally just invited pressure. Also our play lacked real quality because of it too. Disappointed with the ref but he was not to blame. Given the extra days rest I thought the tactics would be obvious. Start quick try to get a goal up and then suck the life out of them by making them chase.

We actually looked the more tired team by the end! Colo's arse falling out with Jelavic didn't help but par for the course with him at present. Him and Santon need to shape up quickly, they are killing us at present.

I was really disappointed with players and manager last night. They have to take their share of responsibility but Pardew either hadn't given them the right tactics or was struggling to get them to calm down. We looked a team in panic to me for the first time which was worrying.

Very worrying, we need to get sorted out quickly or we could be in major trouble. What looked like might be a great season might now turn out to be a major worry.

Hope we can pull something out of the bag at Brighton and at least have a decent Cup run.

Often worry that the away keeper might punt the ball over Krul's head when he goes forward so much.
