I agree having 2 long term injuries in different places can happen to anyone and make them look injury prone, however didn't he say the other week that he still couldn't train every day? I appreciate he's played every game with no problems since he's been back but still, I was a bit concerned when I heard that.
I think the money is ott considering he hasnt played in the prem, has a bad injury past and has 1 year left on his contract. But thats todays market. We need a striker and it looks like Maynard is the one Sven wants
He has picked up 2 or 3 quite bad injurys in his short career so far. IF we do get a bid accepted i am sure Maynard will be having a very extensive medical, i dont think we will take any risks
He's playing in our friendly game atm against Yeovil, I think our board will just keep rejecting the offers, in hope that his agent and him agree on an extension. But if he personally wanted to join you he would of tried to force the move already ?
Maybe you're right. On the other hand he might not want to look the villain by handing in a transfer request, but at the same time he doesn't want to commit so isn't signing a new contract. The reality is he's probably holding out for a Prem team to come in for him, though it doesn't seem this will happen. It remains to be seen whether at the end of it all he will settle for us or just decide to stay put.
Right what I think Maynard is doing is waiting to see if a Prem club comes in but that doesnt look likely that why he hasnt signed for Bristol and when he realise there is no one else except us he will sign for us
Why cant we just ditch the bid for Maynard and look on the contenant. £5+ mill would be able to buy some real talent and be able to bag 20+ a season....
fair point... but who?? i think the main point is maynard is relatively risk free, we know he is class.
If Maynard joins you lot, then promotion is a certainty, I can assure you, the lad is superb. But hope and pray he stays with us & I believe he will sign the new contract & by the end of the season be worth 10million!!
