The prospect of Jos vs. Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge etc. is worrying to say the least for me. If he can get them squared then he should be alright, if they are running at/past him and get him turning then it will be concerning.

*EDIT* To clarify I think Jos has done well since coming back into team around the New Year, but the fact remains that small, quick dribblers like Suarez and Coutinho especially the exact opposite of who we want him facing.

I'm having premonitions of a foot stuck in against the wrong player, in the wrong place.

hmmmm a bit worrying...was hoping for Jose and Yoshi against the pace of sturridge and suarez! Even Forren perhaps. As said above, Hoover isnt at his best against quick darting skillful players!
Still, lets hope it isnt us doing the defending!

Jos hasn't been too bad recently but I don't think his decision-making has been that good at times. There's been a few crosses he's let run across him, that sort of thing. Nothing that's actually caused us real problems but things that could cause problems.

Facing up the pitch and dealing with balls in the air, Jos is generally fine but if he has to turn and run back towards his own goal he worries me and, apart from the recognised issue with quick, skilful players, I also don't think he deals with low crosses too well when he's running back towards his own goal. I don't expect too many high balls into the box so I'm a little concerned today.

Realistically I don't think he's quite up to playing regularly at this level. He's good back up because he can perform for a game or two here and there, particularly against the more physical sides, but I don't think he's good enough to play every week.

Was outstanding against Norwich. Different kind of threat from Liverpool though.

Les Reed in the ear of Roy Hodgson in the stands, wonder if he's enquiring as to the whereabouts of our players in the England squad? ;)
