We should have a strong enough squad to have every chance on securing a result tomorrow however Kenny left Trotter and Hulse on bench Saturday so he may come out all guns blazing at us to avenge last seasons result
TBH I'm glad we've got Wolves and Barnsley away. It's much harder for poor sides to force the game at home than just sitting back and waiting for an opportunity away. Watford on the other hand should beat Millwall, but they go into the match having to win which is a big burden and as we all know pressure makes for unpredictable results.
Apparently, KJ will ring the changes as a lot of their players are "fatigued to the maximum" (apparently, that's a quote from the Millwall physio) and those that Flittonhorn mentioned are thought to be starting.
Briggs - doesn't inspire confidence really; Thompson - can't comment about his cameo on Saturday, but I don't think he has put a foot wrong when picked in the past; Forsyth - could recall him from Derby. I suspect that GZ will go for Briggs though....
I think a lot of people are being a bit harsh on Briggs. Lets remember that he was out injured for almost 2 months before joining us in March. Clearly he made a massive error in judgement in the Burnley game but otherwise he has looked very solid at the back, though not as penetrative going forward as either Pudil or Anya. He has shown some good touches and I think given the benefit of the doubt he could still be a very good player.
COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH COYH We need to get back on track, the shackles may well be off and with so many out in defence well it must be all out attack !!
Just what sort of defence can we put out? Please though GFZ don't try Dickinson at centre half again.
FROM THE EVER RELIABLE BBC: 1844: CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW Ready for some complicated scenarios? Watford can confirm their place in the Championship play-offs tonight if they beat Millwall and either Bolton or Nottingham Forest fail to win against Leicester and Middlesbrough respectively. At the bottom, Bristol City will be relegated if they lose at home to Birmingham. They can also go down if they draw and two of the following four things happen: Blackburn avoid defeat at home to Huddersfield, Peterborough avoid defeat against Brighton, Barnsley win at home to Derby or Wolves beat Hull. Unfortunately for the Robins even a win may not be enough. They will be down if they win and Millwall avoid defeat and Peterborough win and Barnsley win. A head frazzler that one... Tonight's games: Barnsley v Derby Blackburn v Huddersfield Bristol City v Birmingham Cardiff v Charlton Ipswich v Crystal Palace Leeds United v Burnley Leicester v Bolton Middlesbrough v Nottm Forest Millwall v Watford Peterborough v Brighton Wolves v Hull Blackpool v Sheff Wed
Tonights team (as expected defence-wise) Almunia; Doyley, Ekstrand, Briggs; Anya, Yeates, Chalobah, Battocchio, Pudil; Deeney, Vydra. subs: Bond, Hogg, Murray, Abdi, Thompson, Geijo, Forestieri
And Millwall: Forde; A.Smith, ****tu, Beevers, Lowry; J.Smith, Henry, Abdou; C.Taylor, Easter, Keogh subs: M.Taylor, Dunne, Osborne, Wright, Woolford, Batt, Hulse.
Trotter not in our squad, result...we've got a chance then !! 3-1 win to the wounded lions- look out ...
Hornet Player up and running. Feel nervous, but not as nervous as before the game Saturday. The Bordeaux is available if things don't go too well.
