We need the kind of game that maintains the players confidence (whatever the result), though it will take more than one game to damage our lads' confidence. They seem to have all bought into the dream...confirmed by the results they see on the pitch.
Not saying I'm expecting to win this, but the omens are good. I think Poch will be genuinely disappointed if we lose. The international break might help too, even though a few of our players were away, pretty much all of theirs were. In fact it was probably just Januzaj kicking a ball around on his own. Same team (Shaw in for Fox obv). Possible that Steve Davis could be rested as he played in Azerbaijan and Israel last week, but I would like him to play.
Winning teams shouldn't be altered...well, according to some people any way... Fox therefore clearly must start at Old Trafford...
Saints have the opportunity to go into this game with the best defensive record in Europe's top five leagues. Roma face Napoli tonight, and if Roma concede twice, Saints will rank above them!
David Moyes on MUTV says Robin Van Persie is a serious doubt for tomorrow, and has hinted that Anders Lindegaard will start in goal.
Wouldn't mind De Gea being in goal and having Lambert block him and put him under pressure for corners. He's due a clanger!
BT Sport just did some analysis of fan approval rates of Moyes and Pochettino. It's based on the percentage of positive comments about the manager on social media networks. They showed a league table, and Mauricio ranks in at #1 with 85.1% of comment being positive. Martin Jol is last with just 35%, and Chris Hughton is 2nd last.
I don't think any managers are in that much danger for the next couple of months. They should do one for owners.
Unfortunately no link, it was just a feature in their live news panel show. Moyes had about 60% approval if I remember correctly. Pochettino's main rivals were Wenger, Rodgers and Bruce.
Lingard is just as bad, if not worse, at crosses and corners. He's also not nearly as good of a shot stopper.
Up and ready to go ....first trip to Old Trafford just had a cheeky bet on Morgan to score the winner in a 2-1 win
