There was a little bit of panic for his 1st chance Saturday. He probably had too much time and scuffed his shot. Better contact with the 2nd shot but the keeper showed good reactions. If he can wrestle a free kick off Rickie then it shouldn't be far off. Someone wondered who would get a PL goal 1st, JWP/Shaw/Chambers.....I'm betting Chambers
Unfortunately for JWP he'll probably make way for Morgan on Saturday. Not that I won't be pleased to see Schneiderlin back, but sometimes I wish we could see more of the quality backup players we have, notably Ward-Prowse and Ramirez. Oh, and I suppose we'd have to add Gallagher to that list.
I thought it was a return to form by Ward-Prowse last weekend. He hadn't look assured in the few games he played prior, but he looked comfortable and made a good contribution on Saturday. Think Morgan will return in his place, as you cannot leave him, Cork, or Davis out with the way they have been playing.
Davis was very good on Saturday, but he was playing against a woeful Newcastle side. He hasn't been great before that game. I would like to see JWP/Ramirez get more game time, although Man City away isn't the game for Ramirez to start in.
I think somebody up in the sky is having a little interference in this. This makes it two times out of two that Vic and Yaya haven't been able to do battle. I wonder what happens if they both run at each other and go for a bodycheck...
He was very good up until January/February time when he went off the boil. He just hasn't got the creativity that Ramirez has. IMO, he's in the side only because he's better suited to Pochettino's tactics than Ramirez is. If Ramirez could press the opposition like Davis and was more consistent he would be in the side regularly. Nothing against Davis, but Ramirez is a better attacking player.
It would create a giant blackhole which would swallow the entire universe, even Kompany's head after a lengthy battle.
Made the mistake of looking at Man City's stats at home . So let's ignore those...we have the third best away defence....that's better
Not sure you can make the comparison of Davis / Ramirez as they are totally different players. It would currently be difficult defensively to play Lambert, Rodriquez, Lallana & Ramirez in the same starting line up, though it looks a mouth watering prospect from an attacking point of view.
I think Davis will start....can't see Ramirez starting against an attack like City's. He'll probably come on later if we are chasing the game and fresh legs are needed.
Man City are now declaring the game as sold out. Hope we have managed to pretty much sell out our allocation! Should be a cracking atmosphere!!
