For me the highlight was JWP studding Yaya, thought he was going to smack the lad. How can such a quality player be such a cheating **** is beyond me Beautiful line from our defence for their offside goal
Agreed. Still one his better games though! I'm not sure but those two saves he made could be his first of the season. Whatever, would Boruc have saved any of the goals? Maybe. The third one was an extremely good cross, where was the marking by the way, and the 4th Gazza slipped as he thought there was going to be a near-post cross. In fact, the game summed up our season quite nicely. We dominated the first half without really creating any clear cut chances and then got caught out by a mixture of bad luck, mistakes and inspired football.
I nearly peed myself. Not only did he flick it over his head, he ran round him and then did it again class
Rickie, bless him. http://talksport.com/football/rodriguez-devastated-injury-blow-says-southampton-star-14040586269
Here's the clip of Schneiderlin flicking the ball over Yaya, running on to it, flicking it back over him and making Yaya fall over. https://vine.co/v/MiXQuxPHvEO
Communications Officer Jim Lucas says... "Jay Rodriguez flew back to Southampton with the rest of the squad. #SaintsFC unlikely to be able to give a diagnosis until early next week." I should add that Jay is, unsurprisingly, in a knee brace.
I did exactly the same as Jay in my last game before Xmas. I jumped high for a ball to control it, came down on one leg and my knee gave way. I ruptured my medial ligaments. Seeing him do that today brought back some bad memories and made me wince. I re-did mine last weekend, stupidly having a kick around with my 10yr old son. I've now torn my ACL aswell. Bad times! Reckon Jay's medical care might be a bit better than mine though but if be astonished if he's back playing before preseason. Hope I'm wrong.
If it is cruciate ligaments I'd probably be very pleased to just see him back for just some of preseason, the kind of thing that can spill over into next season and then make getting back going really tough.
