Maybe Liverpool will have an off day. Maybe without bitey boy they'll struggle to find the back of the net . Maybe Lovren will get sent off. There's always a chance.
Well it's a 4-3-3 formation and somebody has to play on the left. We can put Gaston there but we all not it won't be a great fit. Tadić played on the right and prefers cutting in with his left foot. The biggest problem is knowing for a long time we don't have a single player in the squad who could replace Jay, and not doing anything about it thus far.
Could go one of two ways I guess (pretty much like every game!). On paper, we should win it, but have a feeling your players will have a point to prove to those that have moved on and could put up a real fight. Think if we start fast like we did last year with 1 or 2 quick goals, could become very comfortable but like always with us, keep it goalless or only 1 goal in it going into last 20 minutes or so and we could get a bit shaky at the back!
I agree with you, but we don't really have a left winger until Jay is fit, so I'm about 80% sure Isgrove will probably be starting. I'd prefer Gaston out there, but it won't happen and it's not his best position anyway.
Really? Out of the 3 ex players, only Lovren will play and I'm pretty sure Lambert, Lallana & Lovren will have shared a few tips on your guys with the rest of the team
but we have several players none of them know anything about and a manager with new tactics, be afraid
Fair point Knowing about ad being able to deal with are 2 very different things though. Last year, everyone knew about Suarez & Sturridge, didn't help most clubs I can see it being a much tighter game than you guys are predicting. I guess for you it's a case of, expect the worse and what ever happens will be an improvement. Hope after Sunday you guys manage to use the cash you got to rebuild well and don't end up struggling and fighting relegation this year. Would be hit to see a team do so well, and just get torn apart by the "bug clubs" for you to then slide straight back down again. Hardly much of an incentive for other clubs hoping to do that same
Despite feeling a bit more positive over the last few days, my mood about saints is still really ****ing negative. It actually amazes me that we haven't signed a winger, or a centre back after all this time. It's staggeringly obvious that we need to strengthen, and has been for months. I know the transfer window is still open for a bit, but from the highs of last season it's a real kick in the teeth to be going into a game expecting to get hammered again. Feels like the old days.
Probably a heroic defeat 2-1 after taking the lead. Rickie gets a standing ovation from the Saints end. The press see a Saints side better than they thought.
