by no means have i said is the next best thing but im saying you cant judge him after that one game ( in which it is a horrible game for any STs if they cant get the ball)
As for comparing Ba and Berbatov you most definately did lol - You looked at the way berbatov plays and then said he can do that yet Ba cant because of their difference in ability - Comparison

Best hasnt earned the right to play at all he was awful in the champ and turned up to a couple of games last year ?
I dont want 2 up front on saturday anyway but Leon Best would be at most my 3rd choice

Can't seem to get my head round this love for Best everybody keeps showing, like youve been watching a different player than me

 

I have never and will never compare Ba with Berbatov just to be clear. They are completely different players in terms of ability. Berbatov despite his obvious downsides is world class and proven. Ba is not. It matters not how you interpret the post, the important thing is that even the most gifted players have to work. Even a little.

People saying Ba had a **** game is not people turing against him. Its called an observation and is a very accurate one. I don't think anyone thought we signed Ba as first choice, so you have to judge him in the role he'll have. Time will tell as I say, hopefully he'll come good. You're struggling to read now too, I could not have been clearer that I do not rate Best. (must have mentioned twice in this thread alone) Its just he has earned the right to play by virtue of giving a better performance in our most recent fixture than both Ba and Shola. If you think otherwise you certainly have been watching a different game/player. He is not good enough for this level to me, but he is currently in much better form than the other two. Hell I don't rate Lovenkrands but I'd prefer him to the performance we were served against Arsenal. I'd pick Ranger ahead of them two, that's how bad they were.

As for not getting the ball, I think you're confusing not getting the ball at all, with wasting what little ball you do get against Arsenal. And its kind of a given in football that if you want the ball, a good start is to move and not be statuesque. As Best and Obertan showed, if you move and drag defenders wide, you will get some ball and create space for others (Cabaye demonstrated this perfectly 2nd half) And what ball did come into Shola and Ba, they either fell over or miscontrolled. As I say I expect it from Shola, hopefully Ba had a bad day at the office.

Basically you can say someone has a **** game, or say someone is hit based on what you've seen. That doesn't mean you are writing them off or not going to back them. ****ing I've been backing Shola for ten years and he only pays me back two games a season!

 

I wouldn't mind Obertan starting on saturday, he would be some skill and a lot of pace into the team, but i can see Pardew opting for the same team that started against Arsenal.

Best is as good as Kevin Doyle, but the difference is Doyle starts and Best doesn't.

 

Warm pouch obvioulsy not understanidng each other then and too be honest tired of fighting against a point that changes in every post

As for saying Kevin Doyle is the same as Leon Best , I think Stevie Wonder would be able to see Kevin Doyle is head and shoulders above Best

 

Nah its fine mate, I think the misunderstanding came from people saying he was **** on Saturday. Not the same a ssaying he's just ****. I'm happy to give him a chance. Based on what I'd seen before he joined my expectations were he'll be able to act as good back up and nick a few goals. I still hope he can. He did look a bit ropey touch wise when I watched him last year but he certainly worked more than he did on Saturday. Any player who pulls on the black and white will get my full support until they have proven conclusively they just don't like work! Ba has not joined Shola just yet.
