    ok simon.....

but we have had long enough to sign players...
i presume Larry had a target list and sat down wth Ken at teh end of the season...
    we lost Killkenny,Johnson,Kasper,Naylor.
    Becchio and Somma injured
    Gradel leaving.
    7 players

we have signed two - Brown 34 yr old DM - needed and im sure will do a great job...

    Rab a second choice keeper....

so the maths dont add up... and surely you have a plan that you dont wait till he last min to execute....
Surley you want your squad together for a few weeks before the season starts (new signings to gel with the squad)

im a little bit lost about your wait and see comment!!!!!!

but if we had done those things that baffle me we could've got relegation as well, if is a wonderful word

Spanish, i dont think the transfer market has treated leeds very nicely to be honest and its the same for a lot of clubs, i bet you QPR are ****ting themselves because they cant sign a player to save their life at the moment, same with many clubs, i posted a thread about ken bates new interview he had and he had said that agents at the moment are valuing their players way too highly and therefore they wont accept a reasonable wage, i dont know whether he is just coming up with an excuse because of leeds activity in transfer market or not but it definately does seem that way at the moment

Regarding the signings or lack of, I feel pretty sure it is to do with bringing in a host of loan players. Premier teams looking at who is doing what in pre-season, deciding on their starting squad and then making those that don't cut it available for loan. It does thoroughly pee me off that this looks to be the route we are going to take again, is it Grayson or Bates that fails to understand this might be okay to survive but you are not going to win promotion with it. Also makes the sale of kasper even more farcical.

As for the opening question, I would not have been worried if Gradel had been set to stay, he is a versatile player who could play up front alongside Ross, without Gradel and with Somma injured it does become a concern. Say we start with Ross and Paynter, we are 1-1 or worse still a goal down with 20 minutes to go, we have no impact player to bring on...

I am hoping that McCormack has come through his lean, and possibly unfit period, and starts to produce the goods.
I am jealous of the way some of the other teams seem to have one track minds...promotion.

We have a good team that needs some serious back up. Until we have owners of the club who take the fantastic support of the club to heart, then we will continue to be also rans.

Two weeks to go and I think there must be some negotiations going on that we hav'nt a clue about that will give us all a boost.

As for SG, I am still of the opinion he will make a good manager. His mistakes in the past will be remembered, (I hope) and his ambition is the same as ALL the fans. The first 2 months will spell it all out for us. As they say "the jurys out"

Yes it seems an eternity ago that Bates said we are after 4 premier league players and Grayson was telling us Rachbuka was not going to be the number one keeper. How things are said to quieten down the fans in an attempt to buy season tickets at inflated prices.

So if Grayson hadn't done things that made no logical sense, we might have been relegated?

Come on, Josh. You make a lot of sense on most issue but you really need to take off your Grayson blinkers and stop saying ridiculous things in order to defend the manager who signed the worst player you have ever seen at any level of football.

Clive can you not see that while Graysons bad decisions cost us promotion..his good decisions got us to knocking on the play offs door

That means his bad decisions outweighed his good and led to ultimate failure.

I honestly think the lack of transfer activity may not be a bad thing, i hope we give Tom Lees a chance, we have also Aidy back and Paddy, alot of the dead weight has gone and i think Brown will do a good job. All we need in my op is a LB and a CM and GK and we can push for top 6 easy, even if them signings are loans.

Don't apologize Josh you're not being racist, the french aren't a race <ok>

    however possibly xenophobic <laugh>

Now as for Leeds struggling for goals, as long as you have a solid defense you should be fine ;)
