I've not heard this song before, but I think I heard the words "a dark Scottish lock" at one point.

For this, and for this alone, that's you barred from the Aberdeen board, Dev. Sorry about that, old bean. (See when me and ER finally resolve the vexing modship issue, there's going to be some serious changes round here. Facto.)

Some nice guitar work, though, I'll give you that.

Yes he does mispronounce "Loch", mind you Horse Racing pundits have been doing that for years when they speak of "Devon Lock" .

    Bastards.

Perhaps a bit late with this, but hey ho:

A newco Rangers dropping down to Div 3 would reinvigourate the whole of Scottish football, bar the SPL teams (exc Celtic). Rangers going to Starks Park and Ochilview would give these teams and fans a lift, both in spirit and financially. The Rangers fans would enjoy going to new grounds and would break the boredom of the SPL.

The SPL should do the right thing ahead of their own financial issues.

Will the right thing prevail though?

    No

Does my head in. These things shouldn't niggle, but they do. Then again, when people go all randomly native and foreign-sounding and start saying things like "Budapesht" and "Bachrain" and "tachini" (for Budapest, Bahrain and tahini), that does my head in, too. It's like that - only, you know, different. When confronted by such outbursts it's as well to promptly ask the offender to name the capital of France. They'll always say "Paris", at which point you'll say "but surely you mean Paree? Look, be consistent or shut the **** up, okay? Nobody thinks you're cultured. Cheers."

    Nicely done. I agree.

In unrelated news, I also thought this was nicely done, even if I didn't entirely agree with all of it (and it seemed to make ER excitingly demented):

    Seriously, you're barred.

Just so long as you didn't pronounce that "och" as "ock", there shouldn't be a problem between us.

As for his royal grumpiness, I'm not even sure that ER knows what ER is like, actually. (I hope he won't slaughter me for saying so.)

I would not blame anyone for doubting my sincerity with some of the drivel I put on here, not a chance at all. I doubt it myself all the time. EasterRoad1980 05/05/2011

That's one of the finest things I've ever read on this site, or anywhere, come to think of it, even though it mirrors the words of mass murderer Dennis Nilsen: "I mistrust my own inner sincerity." (Brian Masters: Killing For Company: The Case of Dennis Nilsen)

I get this entirely. And brutal insights such as these are rare, which is why I took such studiously eager notice of ER's words at the time.

    Did I say that?

One of those rare moments of openness and honesty.

Yes, you did, it was great. I think it was the Piper Alpha thread, although I could be wrong.

Like a snivelling retard, I took notes. <doh>

One cannot speak nonsense all the time.

Sometimes you have to be honest with yourself as well as others.

I'm rather worried about what I sid being similar to a mass murderer though.

Now you have me worried Psycho!!

It's alright, ER, relax, he only killed gays: and I'm pretty sure it says this is okay in the holy books.

(It's certainly the only reason I manage to lead a guilt-free existence.)
