He said he had been carrying an injury at the end of last season. Did he not have an op in the summer?

I wish they would give more details of injuries, ie rather than just ankle/back.

I think he needs a rest. Maybe when Gallagher gets back.

I've been thinking it's been a while since we've had a nice big away win! I'm going 5-1 to us :D

I'm going for a 1-0 win. Love it to be more, but away from home, having played on Saturday, we may have lost some sharpness.

Hull are obviously OK, but I'm hoping we're s bit annoyed at not getting the 3 points on Sat, so will put on a good performance. I think we can win, but I wouldn't be heart broken if we got a draw.

Hull was one of the teams we thrashed this season, we dominated that game completely and they didn't knew what hit them. Even their fans admit we were the best team they played against this season. We are still capable of producing that kind fo perfomances (for example, first halves against Sunderland and Arsenal, second half against Fulham). The key for me is to neutralise Huddlestone. Wanyama did just that in the home match and if he's fit I'd like him to repeat that.

    I am predicting a narrow match as well. 0-1 | 1-0.

I was also planning to make a bet but I have a hunch that Hull City might be able to pull up a shocker.

I might go with the total goal/s of 0-1 and will try out a new bookmaker.

Let me know if I should go with my gut instinct or not.

Persoonally I think there will be a few goals. 1-2 or 2-2.

Not another 2-2 I hope...preferred it when our usual score was 3-1.

Feel that we may use the squad for this one. Few of our players have played a hell of a lot of games this season (and will need to before the end of the campaign) and so can see Ward Prose, Wanyama and possibly even Guly starting this one. Squad looks worryingly thin in areas and we can't over play individuals. Wouldn't be at all shocked to see us line up something like:

    -----------------Boruc---------------------
    Chambers----Fonte-----Yoshida--------Clyne
    ---------------Cork-----Vic-----------------
    JWP---------------Davis---------------Lallana/Guly
    -------------Gallagher/Rodriguez/RL-----------

Not saying it's the right thing to do (and very much doubt all these changes would be made in one go), but would understand the thinking behind it.

Would be surprised of Gallagher travels to an away match before his father's funeral. However, everyone is different and he may prefer to keep occupied.

It's looking good; Lawro has tipped us to lose!

    Hull v Southampton

Now that the dust has settled on the January transfer window, I look at what Hull manager Steve Bruce did in bringing in two strikers and think he did some excellent business.

Both of those new arrivals, Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long, scored in Saturday's win over Sunderland and Bruce knew that a goalscorer was the only thing he was really missing from his team.

Between them they cost £14m but, by backing Bruce in the transfer market, Hull owner Assem Allam has given his team a great chance of staying in the Premier League.

On top of what Hull had already spent in the summer then, yes, it is a gamble but, if it comes off, it guarantees that £90m comes back into the club when they start next season in the top flight too.

Southampton will feel they should have seen off Stoke on Saturday but the way the Potters came back at them twice shows what happens if you lose concentration even for a split-second in the Premier League.

This will be another close game but, because of the way Hull played over the weekend, I think they will pick up another three points and move closer to securing their Premier League safety.

    Lawro's prediction: 2-1

Mauricio says that Gallagher will travel with the team (as he needs the kindness of the group), but may not play.

Clean sheet tomorrow would be nice. These are the sort of games that teams are expected to struggle in - a long away trip on a Tuesday night. But, I think our experience in the football league in the last 5 years, where Tuesday games were a frequent occurrence, will benefit us in this game. Repeat of the last fixture in the Championship I hope, 0-2.
