Random side note, Shane Long has really annoyed me the last two times we've played him. He doesn't seem the kind of player who will dive when he's on the ball, but whenever he knows he's going to get beaten to a ball, particularly when it's in the air, he will just flop to the ground, because he knows he won't get booked for it and every now and then he'll nick a free-kick out of it.

 

Started very brightly, and we've had some nice runs behind their defense from a variety of players...seems to be the desired method of attack in this one. Concerned that we're making mistakes at the back, though; keep doing so and Long/Jelavic will punish us.

 

Lambert is very poor, he's slower than ever and not really in the game. Schneiderlin had better games also. Yoshida was good, though.

As I had the day off today I almost drove up to Hull to watch, sat here with a cup off tea and a slice of coffee cake I am feeling smug about my decision to not go!
