For me it is not so much about the slowness or the accuracy or whether it leaves enough for the fans to argue about......Trust me on that front it won't change. It is just that in the main it is a waste of money simply because of the times it is needed. (I'm actually talking about the ball over the goal line in particular) The use of technology will be increased until the game is changed out of all proportion. If you could guarantee that it would stop at just goal line then fine. You and I know we can bet on a certainty here that eventually it will be increased to cover something else!
Well, if you mean that every off-side call will be accurate and that every ball that went out of play resulted in a throw in or corner, then that would indeed change the game... But in a good way! As I said, there will come a time when this technology will work seamlessly. What would the objection be to that? How would it change the game, except to stop the hold-ups caused by players mobbing the ref, like after the penalty awarded to Rickie last time out?
