Let's see how the game pans out. MP must have a reason to prefer Victor over Cork for this match. Let's see if he is right.
Everyone was devastated when we lost Victor, now devastated because he's back! Be thankful we have 2 great midfielders for God's sake!
He was hardly hysterical. I think he is right. I would have picked Cork and brought Vic on in the second half; he has had no competitive football. * I am a massive Vic fan too*
Conceding goals make it harder to win games. We've conceded more goals since Wanyama has been out that we did before. Not conceding goals is doubly important in away games.
Let's remember Wanyama has been out for nearly 2 months, as FLT said, it would have been better to bring him on before starting him to build up match fitness.
I think Vic had a massive part in that too though. I am in agreement with you on dropping Cork today though.
Surprised to see Victor starting after such a long lay off, think I would have played Jack, with a view to swopping things round on the hour mark. Jack must wonder what he has to do to be in the 1st eleven?
I can only speak for myself, but Victor returning isn't the issue for me. Whether MP wants to throw Victor straight back in or not is fine either way with me. I like Victor. It's who he has decided to drop for Wanyama.
Nervous about this one. I felt we could get something off Arsenal, but we never get results against lower sides that you expect. Aggravated by Newcastle's 3-0 loss...giving us hope.
It does seem harsh on Jack Cork, but in terms of making an impact as a sub, I think Cork's energy will be better than bringing on Vic.
We do this season: against the teams currently in the bottom half, we have seven wins, four draws, and just the one loss against Norwich.
Agreed, if we're looking to hold on to a lead, then bringing Cork on will improve our ability to retain possession no-end. As much as I like Vic, he isn't the greatest ball player in the team.
