I'll correct myself. Cork wasn't excellent, but he just kept it a lot tighter than Vic who was so loose he was a liability in the 1st half. Fortunately Fulham are poor, and after the first goal, looked vulnerable and we obviously gained confidence.
Ha, yeah it does get a bit boring though. They both offer different things, and having those options makes us into a top half team. Ok that's my last comment on that bit. Lallana sort of turned the game for us, again. Oh and Artur doesn't owe us points any more.
I think in games we are looking to dominate (as it seems it's either Cork or Wanyama) Cork is the better player as he is very environmentally friendly and likes to recycle. In games where we need a more physical presence and expect more of a battle in midfield, need more cover in defence, Wanyama is the better pick. The main thing for me though, is that Cork and Schneiderlin seem to make a better partnership, for now at least. Just pleased they both play for us. We really do have an amazing midfield.
NOOOOOOOOOO JWP didn't come off the bench. He's no longer played in every PL game this season. That's him and Rickie off the list, within a week.
FLT - absolutely with you, play all three with Snidders ahead of Victor and Corky-especially in away games and or top teams
Not going to moan about Wanyama because after 6 weeks out I'll give him the benefit of doubt but impressive from Poch to make a straight change wen he saw it wasn't working today. I also thought in the first half that the ref was awful. The yellow card for Wanyama you could clearly see that Wanyama pulled out of the tackle but Parker had already decided to dive. Second half showed Saints as we are. Lallana's finish was one he would have missed in past seasons and after that we opened up. Clyne involvement was good for the second. Jay's goal was awesome too and all in front of Roy Hodgson I wouldn't like to guess how many Saints players will be going to Brazil (for England) but I think Lambert and Lallana will be dead certs. Clyne, Rodriguez and Shaw have outside chances. Could be silly and say Chambers is an outside chance too. lol EDIT: Parker goes down more often than Adam............and that is saying something.
Yep. Fantastic stuff. The way we always like to play, probing until a space opens up. Fulham really did open up! And with a bit of fast, incisive running from Clyne, we picked up the pace of our attack, a nice leave by JRod and confident first time finish from Rickie. Lovely stuff. Nice to have an end product to the pretty football we often play.
Sounds good to me an improvement on the 'making up the numbers' players in the England Squad. The squad will be the usual 15+we can't think of anyone else good enough. BBC commentater on final score: 'but then Southampton upped the tempo and ripped Fulham apart in front of the watching England manager'.
MotD running order - 1. Stoke/Man Utd, 2. Newcastle/Sunderland, 3. Cardiff/Norwich, 4. Everton/Villa, 5. Fulham/Southampton, 6. West Ham/Swansea, 7. Hull/Spurs
I was especially pleased with this result as we so often drop points in games like this. Excellent with good goals reportedly...looking forward to MOTD tonight.
