Right from a welsh point of view, not which ****ing club they play for. Thought Taylor was excellent again damn we missed Bellamy, Blake and Williams very solid and Gunter got forward as much as he could, midfield was very strong thought we might get overrun in the second half, felt as if Morison was not supported enough and earnie missed a sitter but that's football, but very happy to see us playing with confidence.
I thought we were excellent, gutted to not come away with at least a point. We could have won that match tonight. Rambo was exceptional in midfield.
"It was a sitter but it could happen to anyone so there's no need to single him out because he's a Cardiff player. No doubt he will be feeling pig sick tonight, it's not as if he did it on purpose. It's just a pity that despite us playing against the real sporting enemy tonight we still bicker amongst ourselves." Couldn't have put it better myself!! Wales played so well & deserved at least a point. Done 'us' proud, that's us as in Welshmen, not petty club differences....
we did play well tonight , need less championship players and more prem players , hopefully with the Swans striking forward for Wales that will come in time as the Swans bring the youth through
England 4th in the world, Wales 117th in the world. Judging by that performance I would say the 113 between them are all joint 5th.
Ledley was played out of position and it showed but have to praise crofts for a great job marking Rooney out of the game
Jack Army, on that basis, don't build the Wales team around around Swans players, they'll all be Championship players next year. Well put Dilligaf and others. For the 90 odd minutes we are Wales, NOT Cardiff and Swansea (plus a few others). OK. Game over, we can start bickering again now.
Great performance, well done Wales. Earie will be living with that miss for the rest of his days, poor chap. Let's hope that this is the start of (yet another) new dawn. Our next group looks like we could be in with a chance and IF we manage to have fit players, well, who knows.
Thought Speed got his tactics spot-on. We played totally to our strengths & his positioning of Crofts gave Ramsey & Bale licence to roam & create menace. Well done Gary, you took some slagging when appointed, but you've put some pride back into that Welsh shirt!! Thought everyone played their part & for a bit of luck, who knows......
I agree with the general sentiments expressed above. That's the best Wales have played in donkeys years. We deserved a point at least. At last we have something to look forward to. Solid defence, control in midfield. But imagine what Roonie would have done if he'd been playing. No, wait..........
first half we didnt really get a kick, though for the first 15 mins or so england just kept the ball in their own half. i thought ledley was almost completely absent from the game for not the first time, yet again i dont see what he does to keep his place in the team. second half was completely different. england started strongly, but bale looked excellent, along with ramsey he was head and shoulders above any welsh player out there. its obvious that the team needs to be built around ramsey, he plays with his head up and rarely gives the ball away. the improvement from the reverse fixture was obvious, and it was good to see the players didnt panick and hoof the ball forwards in the second half. overall, a narrow loss but we performed far better than any pundit or journo would have expected us to
dont forget Bale as he played brilliant once again. maybe with Bellamy in that side we could of taken all 3 pts. fingers crossed that welsh football is on the up.
Lies, lies and damn statistics. That result will possibly keep us below 100 in FIFA's rankings. The performance and reality says something different. Why are FIFA so reluctant to change the much maligned system. They cannot decide as ruling body which one they prefer, the womens game is based on the easier to understand and more accurate ELO (good band) system and yet Blatter et al refuses to budge. Could it be due to the all those votes they could lose from the 'dodgy' federations.... surely not! Well done Gary Speed and the boys and hardlines, there is something developing there and it can only be good for all Welsh football. Ernie your a bluebird git but many a player has missed those chances, just gutted it was tonight. Through gritted teeth..... good luck England.
Unfortunately the rankings are updated monthly. That is Speed's ranking. Not bigging up Tosh but lets not forget the amount of players playing today blooded by that man. A good manager will surely reap the benefits and that is the weight on Speed's shoulders.
