Eamon... As far as I know, once the article is written, it has to go through approval before it goes live. This is because of the links with NewsNow. If you go to NewsNow, you will see that your article is now world-wide....anyone, from anywhere can read it. Whilst in approval, it will be spell-checked, as well. Without knowing the full facts, I can only assume that whoever checked it thought that that would make a better title, and would attract more readers, and therefore more hits to the site. If I were you, I would check with the site admins (Maltese Mick, etc) as to what happened. I cannot imagine that it was done for any other reason than to stand out on NN. Keep up the good work, mate
Rollercoaster, My understanding of copyright is that it's owned by the creator of a work, unless the creator contracts otherwise or decides to sell it. Can't find anything in FAQ's that helps here. Can't find any T&C either. Be interested to know why you think copyright is with the site.
Only based on assumption, nothing more scientific than that Hawkster. We do not own the site, therefore are giving away copyright by posting on it. Life usually goes that way.
Anyways back to the thread............................................... Can I blame the owners for no kit, no sponsor , no reinforcements, no tickets/prices released for a game 3 weeks away, for undermining and not backing the best manager we've had in years? And breathe!
The reason I never post on our board much anymore is because it's too gloomy, i don't want to talk about anything cos everyone has to bring up the owners in every ****ing thread, can't we ever be jolly, we're in the Premier League for the first time in 15 years and everyone's too worried about not having enough transfer budget to stay there, keep in the present, not the future. We've been through so much worse in the last few years and this is the time we should be celebrating, not moaning.
Quite a lot of teams don't have kits yet, and we have a reason, we're trying to find the best sponsor available, they're waiting till they sell more season tickets before they release single game tickets. I can't be bothered to go into the last one.
Who in the Prem doesn't have a kit lined up? Season tickets are sold out, and tickets are meant to be on general sale a month before.( can't decide on how much they can get away with) You didn't go into the last one why, because you couldn't probably. We are an absolute shambles stumbling in to the new season, I can't see why some people try to defend them. EDIT: You didn't go into the reinforcements either.
What's the point in being there if we're not going to give it a go? And if want to see gloomy, see the SKY vid with Warnock yesterday.
I actually agree with most of your post Eamon. The main point you miss is that our desire to have the Mittals in charge is not down to wild promises of cash if they owned the club (although Another Bhatia did say something along the lines of "Sure, we'll have to invest in players if we get promoted." a long time before any ownership wranglings started) but more down to our success being at the point Bhatia was running the day to day and Flavio was out of the picture. You also correctly stated that ultimately the fan are right to feel frustrated unless new owners suddenly appear and, as it stands, we're reliant on NW's water into wine tricks for survival. Good post (whatever happened to the title).
"Bhatia did say something along the lines of "Sure, we'll have to invest in players if we get promoted." So what? Bernie also said "We're not getting promoted just to make up the numbers". Remember that Bhatia himself doesn't have money to spend only his father-in-law who clearly isn't throwing it around as far as QPR is concerned.
My point was in response to the comment about our blind faith in the Mittals on the strength of them claiming that there was a huge war chest. AB's comment carries more weight than me saying we'll invest and was made at a stage where he was the board presence of the Mittals family. He said this while on the board that he left for moral reasons whereas Bernie has clearly demonstrated that he doesn't want QPR to make up the numbers for more than a year... And any differences between the goons over valuation and the Mittals undervaluation is just attempts to save face and maintain reputations for business accumen.
Great article Eamon, very well constructed and a thoroughly good read. If you read my posts as well as I read your's, you'll know I can't agree with you re. a more gentle approach to the owners, nor on the Mittals being as bad if not worse than Ecclestone, Briatore and Paladini should they eventually take control of the club. As for your original title being edited without consultation, I would be equally horrified if that happened to me. What was the original title?
Stick with it eamon. I like your natural caution and also agree that the mood here is far too vitriolic lately. I must admit though that had my original article been tampered with I would be less than impressed and would consider any further imvolvement here. Nonetheless keep up the good work
Forgive me if im wrong, but does'nt Adels contract run out till 2013? ..AMBITIOUS CLUBS DONT SELL THEIR BEST PLAYERS!!!!! END OF!
TBF to them, they had to change the original title('wearing thin') and take out the bit where he was complaining about me calling him an apologist, to put it on newsnow, but they should've PMd him. It's a compliment, I won't get anything on there!
