Hills got her caught in a pocket and if a proper jock was on she would have got up. Fallon was masterful for Stoute though. Those two jocks are poles apart!

I must say that Hills was unusually hard on firdaws there, he is normally very easy on a debutant.

<cheers> Chippy and Maninblack sorted for the weekend and even my mugs bet lucky 15 has treble the odds 11-1 winner so more than money back there with 3 to run. What we thinking of the next maiden ? like the look of Topclass's selection that he put up earlier

Maybe UK riders need to spend a year in Oz, they'd learn how to go through a hole, or make one. It's all too gentlemanly. :)

RV - although it's a no bet for me I'd be inclined to give Tidy Affair another go in that maiden to be honest.

    Winning distance was a heed as well wasn't it ? <laugh> :p

Chippy that one certainly has the experience advantage. TOP OFFER is very interesting not often a Charlton horse is this short unless they think it is really good. Have decided to back UNEX MICHELANGELO just a small E.W though. Looks a very nice type on paper and seems to have drifted to a nice E.W price

Chuckles, the Oldbawn Maiden run at Leopardstown in the Autumn of 1981 would have claims to be the strongest maiden ever run.

Golden Fleece won from Assert in second. These two, between them, subsequently won the Epsom,French and Irish Derbies in 1982.

  17. 2.10 Newcastle Spyder 9/1 Jane Chapple Hyam doesnt send many this far north without being in with a shout. Spyder has good place claims in that his best form has come on ground that has been Good to Soft and Heavy. He runs off a Mark of 73 which was enough to see him grab 3rd over 10f on Heavy Ground in similar company, is the trainers only runner here today and has to go close.

That horse is a beautiful mover, Charlton has one to go to war with.
