Dex made me remember my lovely old gran 50 so years ago,her tanner doubles on a old cigarette packet and her nom de plume JOE 9, my brothers name and her door number,me running round to "BOTTLES" the bookie, who was on the street corner.I was good at maths so I could work out her bets and she would give me threepence when she won. Those were the ,no I must not say it.:emoticon-0102-bigsm

OddDog: I wish you continued luck with Sky stock (think you are still well up with your purchase?) but I cannot agree that this is a good time to buy shares, not yet anyway. The financial markets are in chaos, generally speaking, and there will be some good buys in the medium term, but not right now? Pure hindsight, and I mean hindsight, tells me that the Swiss Franc has been the best bet over the past 4 years or so? Last time I checked: mid-2008: €100 = CHF168/Aug-2011: €100 = CHF104. Real problem for the Swiss as nobody can afford to go there, but not for anyone holding the currency outside of that country?
