Its opportunistic theft. Simple as. Get out the water cannons. Cant believe we cant use them. How much fun is running around the streets soaking wet?

Sorry for an off topic random post, who was it some time ago talking about Sky Deutschland on here?

Blues Jazz looks to be the best bet of the day, the ground will be at very least GS when the racing starts probably good as it's a lovely day here.

Englishtown also looks like it's back on form and should go well for the Champ

  4. Sorry to go on about the riots today guys, however, everything else pales into insignificance today for me.

No money no remorse, who is to blame is irrelevant, how can you teach individuals right and wrong when they are merely doing something they do day in day only on a larger scale with no fear of reprisals. Society has failed them and to typecast race and religion is not short of racism, there is no set colour or creed involved in these riots as this video shows the gang are predominantly white:

On this sad sad day for this once proud and loyal country, when people are calling for all sorts of measures, including National Service ( i have my own opinions on this) i will leave you with this excerpt from Shakespeares. Richard II, Act 2

"This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,

This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,

    This other Eden, demi-paradise,

This fortress built by Nature for herself

Against infection and the hand of war,

This happy breed of men, this little world,

This precious stone set in the silver sea,

Which serves it in the office of a wall

Or as a moat defensive to a house,

Against the envy of less happier lands,—

This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England."

Wayward: They wont send in the Army yet but if the Police are unable to get to grips purely on a numbers basis i see no other option!

    Afternoon all

just the one for me today PLATO at Nottingham.

On the subject of the riots did you see the police just standing there whilst being pelted with big rocks and all sorts. Sending them on to the streets with a couple of plastic shields is hardly going to work. As someone said earlier - get the watter cannons out- also tear gas ? or rubber bullets

They should send the army in now but they're already saying that the army won't do naything the police can't (yes I know..........) so all they'll do is bump the numbers of coppers up instead. The problem with that is they lack experience of riot situations now.In the 80s running battles between the police and football hooligans, rioters, coal miners, print workers, dockers, people going to acid house parties, etc. etc. were so frequent that the police had it down to a fine art. Now they don't seem to have much of a clue and half of them are terrified that if they hit poor little Whitney or Tyler they'll lose their jobs and go to prison.

The communication options open to these people make it hard for anyone to do anything about it. There doesn't really seem to be a way of stopping this stuff. I know the authorities can't stand by and do nothing, but the more they ramp up their presence ( which they have to do) the more it stirs up the idiots. If the army is brought in, the rioting will quickly escalate well beyond what it is now.

    5.00 Ayr

    Ya Boy Sir 16/1 NAP

LTO Ya Boy Sir ran at Mussleburgh when he was a very fast finishing 4th in what turned out to be what I think was a failed touch by the yard. A young claimer was declared on board before he was "unable" to ride and was replaced by stable jockey Duran Fentiman, who is on board today, took over near enough to the race. Furthermore, Ya Boy Sir was 5lb out of the handicap that day. Its clear to me that the yard know he is in good form and if he's gotten a bit sharper from that run I think Ian Semple's C+D winner can definitely play a big role at the finish. He is fully 12lb lower than when scoring over C+D last July and at 4 years old he clearly isn't over the hill yet. I think he has a fantastic chance and at 16/1 I think he's a great price

    4.00 Ayr

    Spirit of a Nation 14/1

I'll keep this short and sweet. Fancy Moffatt's runner here quite a bit. Winner mid way through July at Haydock over14f at Haydock off a mark of 73 in a Class 4, Spirit of a Nation perhaps found the class 3 a little too tough LTO. Today, this 6 year old drops back to a class 5 and is off a mark of 75 and with the very useful claim of Shane Kelly he runs effectively 3lb lower than his win less than a month ago and I think he has a fantastic chance.

    3.30 Purkab

Yard in fine form, the horse has shown that the mark is fair and the field isn't strong at all. 11/2 is a good price for him

Was never going Oddy, not a good run and then pulled up. The second home is an interesting one, battled on nicely after losing its chance.
