Have to admit I forgot about Preston (repeating what people have said

Brown isnt a bad Manager yet he's not been down to League One before (or has he??)) - Scunthorpe have ALWAYS had good Strikers (Paterson / Hooper / Dagnall) its gonna be a fun season.

Would be great to do a Brighton but lets take each Weekend (and some Weekdays) as they come

After we reached the JPT Semi's last season would anyone be interested in trying to get to Wembley this year (using the likes of Pritchard / Sullivan / Alonso / Evina (or Wiggins depending on who our regular Left Back is) / Mambo etc...)

I think we have the squad to have a real go at the JPT without harming our league chances. It would certainly give the likes of Popo, Warren and Harriott the chance to earn some glory for themselves.

    Plus the Kent Cup!

I'd go with Charlton, MK Dons and Sheffield United, with Huddersfield Scunthorpe Preston all there or thereabouts.

Have to play a strong team in the JPT - them's the rules. Close to the first team.

Regarding predictions, very tough to say. Huddersfield, Milton Keynes Wimbledon and Bournemouth would expect to be in around there again, along with the relegated clubs and the likes of ourselves, Wednesday and Brentford. Of the surprise contenders, Chesterfield could well be in the hunt from the off.

For relegation, let's go for Bury, Rochdale, Tranmere and Notts County. No particular reasoning behind that, but there you go.

We'll see in a few months' time. <ok>

Got to echo the concerns re. Huddersfield, I think they look very strong. Also worried people are underestimating Sheff Utd, and particularly Preston. MK Dons won't be far off. I think some of last year's surprises may struggle... Rochdale, Exeter. My dark horse would be Carlisle, it's a horrible place to have to travel to and they were going great guns last year until the JPT distracted them.

Can't work out why the team that finished 15th last year and haven't really signed anyone of note (other than Semedo, of course) are the pundits' tip for the title? It's big-club syndrome. Can't see Wednesday getting promoted myself.

Yes I agree, too much triumphalism even after a disappointing pre-season and under-rating of the opposition.

I think the mentality from the top down has to be that of confidence. Something we haven't had in years and look where we are. Slater is starting at the top with his impressive comments, CP talking about promotion is the only aim, and the players have been vocal in their beliefs that it is the target.

No one is saying it's going to be easy.

They seem to be doing the exact same as his teams always do. Focus on running around in circles and up mountains. It's why he's an impact manager, but not sure about him over a season.

I don't think they've made any spectacular signings, and missed out on Benson because he wanted to commute from London.

All the same, they're looking forward to SuperChrissy's visit to Meadow Lane.

I agreed with you about this at the time, PEA - the news that Obika's gone back there on loan just reinforces that view IMO.

It's difficult to see what Spurs are doing here. If they don't think he's going to make it, why not sell him? Why keep loaning him out? Surely the must have seen by now whether he's going to develop into a Prem player.

Well done Yeovil - significant signing.

Yep, a great signing, Tewks. I think Skiverton has a vision and has bravely let some of the stalwarts such as Bowditch, Virgo and Kalala leave. They were fans' favourites but I think they have great confidence in their manager, which has been vindicated with the Obika signing.

I can see them troubling a few of the bigger sides this season.
