Cannot see Adkins being replaced now and certainly not by some random. Why would Cortese replace Adkins when survival looks likely if we continue as we are now? It would take a massive falling out between them. I wouldn't replace Nigel next year either, but accept that Cortese may feel he wants a better season next year. Cortese, no doubt, has his eye on other managers and their performance, because Adkins could up sticks on his own. It's caused preparation. As for being an odd couple, I always think of Nigel as the human face of Nicola.

Better be a goddamned crock. Nicola, please...all I ask is that you attend a press conference today, announce the signing of Forren, and shoot down any rumours that we're replacing Nigel with Pochettino.

I am hoping that the only reason that this has gathered any pace at all is that everyone that is off work and school today because of the snow has nothing better to do than sit around re-tweeting bullshit.

 

The trouble is that when a rumour starts you can always find tell tale signs in the past which you ignored before. The delay in the latest signing with a Norwegian journalist saying that one reason was that he wanted to be sure he's the manager's choice (???). Adkins saying that people had to deal with Cortese and good luck with that. Asked about Forren signing, he said, 'You are asking the wrong man.' None of these mean anything until you get twitchy with rumours. I note that Rednapp today said that he didn't know how some deals were going because he didn't deal with that side of it, which suggests that a separate recruitment team is common now.

Come on every one...you know the reason now don't you. It has been so clear that they do not like the way our Nigel makes the tea.......They even gave ST G a chance and that was a disaster too. So by the look of it they need someone in so that they can actually teach him how to make a decent cup of Tea....simples.....

 

Bit alarmed by how this is being reported this morning. Really hope it's not true, even if Pochettino was a significant improvement on Adkins, which I doubt, it would be an unpopular appointment in the vein of Benitez at Chelsea. Surely Cortese can see that even if he wants to replace Adkins now is not the time to do it.

 

Think it's just spiralled from yesterdays Mirror report which suggested he was in the frame should Nigel screw up!

Don't worry, it's just a test. The tabloids were certain Nigel was gone in November but Nicola kept his nerve, he's no idiot.

I was only a little worried until I saw Balague's twitter...he WILL know Pochettino. Can't imagine he'd want to look like a tit for no reason.
