Worst possible time, as six weeks means a minimum of nine league games. This is Gazza's big chance...hope he's up for it.
It's probably not that bad, it's just that as he's a goalkeeper his hand needs to be fully healed before he can play again. Barnard, after cutting his hand in a fight, was fine to play providing he wore a bandage.
Our Artur will probably just sink half a dozen pints before each game to numb the pain then carry on. Vin
Agreed. I was a but confused when Sky kept talking about the success of our pressing game today; I didn't think it was there. A lot of players of form. Chelsea were poor for the first half and more powerful in the second half, but apart from 5 minutes in the second half when we did press Chelsea and kept winning it back. I felt we were lacking. I'm not worried though, we've lost away to arsenal and Chelsea. That's just about where we are. There is no way we are a top 4 team and today showed that. I hope we get back in it quickly though as I have been enjoying all the positivity; perhaps now a little reality.
When I wake up tomorrow morning I will check on here to see you are all saying Artur is fine. Make it happen. Ok Simon Peach just confirmed 6 weeks out, so balls to that.
I still laugh at what Barnard said " I had a bottle in my hand then I must of blanked out as when I looked I had smashed it" (not a direct quote but basically what he said)
Have to say I agree with CBK, albeit in a not so angry or worried way. Chelsea were rubbish first half and not much better in the second half. We were just well off the pace in the whole game really. The second half the difference in Chelsea was that they putting themselves about and became much more physical. I though Ramires could have had several yellows TBH. We didn't deserve anything from the game though even though they weren't much. Getting worried about Osvaldo though. Like the poster who's Arsenal mates said he is struggling I would have to agree. He's definitely got the team spirit going as you can see in his joy when we score a goal but during a game he often looks like someone who can't believe the 'English' game is so fast paced as well as physical. Hopefully not another Ramirez but it's starting to look a possibility. I thought that the fact we have basically only started about 14 players showed badly and some are looking like they need a rest. Not a 'rest' as in not on form but due to playing every game. JWP and Adam have had a great start to the season but were the 2 for me that looked the most tired today. Morgan another and Clyne when he has opportunity has not crossed the ball in for the last 2 games now. Oh well. On to the Villa game and rest 2 or 3 (enforced or not) and lets hope we can get a win
Iv not seen much of gazzaniga .you are all talking like hes gonna be a big step down from boruc.what are your opinions on gazzaniga? ( hope i spelt his name correctly )
Let's put it this way. Go back to Artur Boruc v Arsenal at home in the first 15/20 minutes last season. That's not a bad comparison.
Kids got potential. Just hope his time out of the team has helped him work on his weaker area's. I thought he did well when given a chance under Nige, just those mistakes cost us points each time. Costly mistakes linger so much longer.
Did very well at L2 with Gills and thought to be a good prospect. Was thrown in last season during the 'keeper merry go round' and was ill prepared. He showed some talent but made silly errors as you would expect from a young keeper. Don't think he commands the defence as well as Boruc but may go on to be a great keeper. In short Arty is the safe pair of hands and nobody feels as comfortable without him.
