I actually agree with eddieveee but they shouldn't have scored 6 or 7. I think Malmo probably should have won by more than one, but it's more down to Rangers being terrible than Malmo being good. What really got to me was that forward Wilton kept throwing himself to the ground but never got booked for it, but Wallace done it and deservedly got a yellow. At least the ref never gave the free kicks against us. Admiral, my comment about being in a relegation battle was made with tongue in cheek (I think)
Rangers fans, it is highly possible that you will succeed and get to the next round. To do this you will have to do something Rangers have not managed to do in 50 years and that is turn aside a home defeat by an away victory. Rangers fans you are not doing credit to yourselves. How can you feel you are helping Ally and his players by booing them off the pitch. Ally as a rookie Manager needs your help, the loud mouths showing their dissent does not help matters. Celtic have their own loud mouths bellowing abuse at players they don't like and they call themselves supporters.
Of course they can turn it around but playing 5 at the back is not the way to do it. If Ally wants to be a success he will have to forget some of what he learned from Walter. I know for a fact that Gers fans would rather have a go and get knocked out than play defensive/safety first approach and get knocked out in a 0-0 draw. Nothing to lose by being a bit gung ho. Years ago I saw Celtic go out 5-5 on aggregate against Partizan Belgrade, it was gutting to lose 4 goal at Parkhead but it was a great game and we did at least go for the throat.
I fully expect Rangers to go through... The other night was funny as **** but I expect a lot of it was to do with match sharpness. I think Rangers didn't play enough pre-season friendlies before the Malmo tie. McCoist has Lennon's problem last season - another manager's team that he wants to put his mark on. Problem is, many of them still have Smith's tactics engrained (sp?) on them from the past three years (and changing tack may take a while). One question: Why play 5 at the back at home? (Defo the tactic for away games mind you). McCoist needs to get through this tie and hope he can get a few new faces in to freshen up the team so he can mould Rangers the way he wants = like Lennon had to do (Europe came too soon for Lennon last season and I expect a better run this season) but with less changes than Lennon.
"What really got to me was that forward Wilton kept throwing himself to the ground but never got booked for it, but Wallace done it and deservedly got a yellow. At least the ref never gave the free kicks against us." well when henrik said he was going to help them beat rangers we knew that would happen as that diving was the only way celtic knew to beat rangers when henrik was there. as I've said before, when we attack we win and when we defend we don't win, so as we need to win this game then we need to attack. this malmo team is not great and won't stand up to any pressure so if we attack them then we will go through, but if we play safe then we will go out.
Yes and Henrik was famed throughout the world as a diver? Why bring Celtic into this? Honestly, some people do like to talk about "Football" sometimes without any petty sniping. Get a grip eh and don't spoil a thread with ridiculous accusations, they just flag up your foolishness.
