I can understand where you're coming from! Reckon I'm just used to being called a **** and would sooner take success over popularity.

Not one you'd want mate, have you seen my missus, scary as ****! <laugh>

MA is already a success, he's made well over a billion quid, just not as successful at owning a football club. As I said if I was him and an employee, yeah ok an employee who's really good at kicking a ball, was saying crap about me to millions of people including my customers (yeah us Toon fans) I'd sack him.

Syd: this fabulous anology seems to be wasted on certain Mags on this thread who seem to think you are trying to compare their outfit with a corner shop...
Great method of showing the situation from Ashley's perspective mate...<applause>

He's not blameless by any stretch. He's behaved like most footballers do when they are lied to, and don't get what they want. Childish and its poor. Is it understandable? Yes the route of the problem is the way the club is treating the players. its creating unrest within the squad. If it was just Barton then maybe, but we'll be into double figures now. The problem is the board want to reduce costs by offloading some of the high earners, they are just not saying it. If they came clean everyone would know where they stand even if they didn't like it. by continually moving the goalposts and trying to justify their position by painting the player as the bad man, they are unsettling the football side. They don't understand football as a business. Its a delicate balancing act between business and sporting ambitions. I reckon its difficult but it can be done clearly. If we only deal with teh consequences (Barton behaviour) and not the route of the problem (the boards unwillingness to be open about cost cutting), then I guarantee this problem will resurface with a different player within 12 months.

Barton has seen which way the wind is blowing at NUFC. he has engineered himself a move and got his contract payed up as well. Ashley has been bought and sold. And a large section of the NUFC faithful are believing Bartons bull****. He has just robbed your club of £3million. Canny work if you can get it.

Why is everyone saying its different in football? If anything there payed way over the odds so surrelly they have more reason to keep shut, as much as i think joeys brilliant he shot himself in the foot really did he expect to get a better contract by calling him a c*** basically?

Great player, probably wouldn't come to us, would have taken him before this week. Now it would just seem horrendously harsh on Newcastle.

For his footballing ability, yes, like a shot. For the trouble he causes, no, never. He just isn't worth it. There are better players who cause less trouble.
