There is other factors. Steve McClaren whom I don't usually take heed from as he talks bollox most of the time,said ''Stewart Downing is a managers dream''.This was echoed by Gerard Houllier whom I'm more inclined to take serious. Now if our 3 major signings give us what we expect them to give us then we'll do well. Henderson will give us more energy. Downing will give us natural width and will provide ammunition to get the best out of Andy Carroll. Adam will be our tempo setter and will prevent us from getting over-run in away games.
You're right there smerch, look at Man City with the Tevez saga and Ballotelli antics (all of them). I can see that costing them the title chase this season. Hopefully with the squad we have now and a couple more needed additions we can climb back into that top 4 and a good cup run.
