Paul Di resta has Ferrari admirers?

I have never seen any gushing praises for Paul from Ferrari or their fans so where has this Autosport fantasy come from?

Any chance to shead some light on that Forza?

The only Di Resta to Ferrari contact is Di Resta and Anthony being spotted in talks with Domenicali in China. I doubt he's under serious consideration, but if it's "very open" then he's probably not ruled out yet.

If Schumacher stays at Mercedes (and leave the discussion about whether he should for another time), then you have to say Hamilton's trapped at Mclaren.

If Ferrari sign a new driver, it's looking increasingly likely that Massa will be out of F1. He says this:

It would be a big shame because he's one of the best drivers on his day. His average qualifying gap to Alonso since 2010 has been about 4 tenths. IMO only a few drivers would be closer to Alonso's pace.

Also going back to the Autosport article on the previous page, it says Ferrari haven't ruled out a "costly bid for a big name driver". Of all the drivers left on the market, that can only refer to Lewis Hamilton...

Personally, I don't think it will happen, but Raikkonen has been linked with replacing Massa. The article also suggests Hulkenberg, di Resta, Perez and Grosjean as candidates.

I'd rather Kimi stays at Lotus. He seems to like it there, he isn't pressured to do PR and he seems to have a bit more freedom in his contract. Much more than he would have at a team like Ferrari, Red Bull or McLaren.

Wouldn't that be fairly ironic? Didn't Ferrari sack him because he was under performing compared to Massa?

Probably Kimi got what he wanted out of Ferrari and just wanted out in the end. He won't go back there and only Red Bull could accommodate his requirements apart from Lotus.

Hamilton to Ferrari seems more & more likely, plus his relationship with Alonso seems to have greatly improved.

It could explain why Di Resta parted company with Anthony Hamilton....

I thought it was because they wanted Alonso but didn't want the bad PR of sacking a guy with a fractured skull.

They fired Kimi because he couldn't do what they wanted him to do, which was to be Schumacher's successor. That's why they brought in Alonso. They needed to replace someone and after Kimi was outperformed by Massa in 2008 and 2009, the decision was easy. There's no way Kimi is going back to Ferrari - Luca wouldn't let that happen and he calls the shots.

As for Button, if that was ever going to happen, Ferrari would have signed an agreement with him before he signed a multi-year deal with McLaren.

    Raikkonen isn't going to Ferrari.

In the Autosport article it says: "A number of young drivers are on Ferrari's radar - with Nico Hulkenberg, Paul di Resta, Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean all on the short-list of candidates for the drive. However, Ferrari sources insist that the team has not seen enough from any of those drivers to be sure that they will be a definite step forward over Massa"

So who is a "definite step forward" then?

I'll stick with what I said at the start, I wont be suprised if Seb leaves for Ferrari next year.

The two Force India drivers have both shown they're able to consistently perform at a high level, di Resta's beating Massa with by far a worse car, even at its worst the Ferrari was never as bad as the Force India. What more proof do they need from di Resta? While there's no doubt in my mind that Grosjean and Perez are miles better than Massa, I can sort of understand Ferrari's reluctance given how erratic they've been, not ideal no. 2 drivers.
