The truth is we were good enough to win the League in 2023 - that was a title winning side that didn't quite make it over the line.

Arteta had to change things to compete on top fronts and he's done that.

I think he knows how to improve this team and squad and we may see an even better side over the next few Seasons.

And the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons are the reason why I blame Arteta for our **** football 100%, because he changed our style of play when it was unnecessary.

2022/23 the issue was lack of squad quality, not our football. We lost Saliba and Holding was the replacement.During the Liverpool game at Anfield when we went 0-2 up I actually got light headed and literally felt like I was in wonderland, every time they showed the away fans they were deliriously happy - until that knob Xhaka went and ruined it all.

2023/24 there was no issue, we were just up against an incredible City team. What we had to do is repeat what we did that season, City would not have maintained that level, just like they didn't the season Liverpool won under Klopp!

So no, he didn't have to change a bloody thing !

Arteta thought it WAS necessary to change things because we came up short - we just won the league so there can be no argument with his strategy.
In fact, I think what he did was pure genius elite level management. He found the parts of the game where we could gain an edge and used them to win us a title for the first time in 22 years - after MANY near misses with Wenger and under Arteta where style was placed above substance.

I agree we didn't need to change as aggressively as he did but Arteta was ultimately proven right. Your criticism though was soo far over the top it its laughable, sometimes in life you just need to admit you were wrong and move on. <laugh>

We won the league (and may also win the UCL.)

I think we will see more attacking football next season with the pressure off - I do think the more defensive style is perfect for the UCL though.

Mate, you’ve played football.
You’ve been in dressing rooms
There is no such thing as kumbaya 100% agreement.
Eze asked to be allowed to play more freely.
Arteta actually listened to him.
This is not ‘the players not trusting the process.’
Just stop with this - Arteta is now the top manager in the world having just won the top club competition against all the odds.

Jay, did you read the article?? The players were tired and getting injuries, so Arteta's answer was to work them even harder?!!! Top manager my arse!

Yeah and we won the league.
Sometimes players need to be managed firmly.
Player whining is as old as the game.
Just again shows that Arteta has control.

Looooool.

More like Arteta is a micro managing dufus, who is deluded and needed a new player to tell him what he was doing wrong. You can spin it whichever way you want, it won't change the fact that it was the defining moment of the season and Arteta needed to be told by a player where he was going wrong! Tiredness, injuries yet Arteta wanted to push the players harder, how ****ing stupid is that !

HH , I don't need to spin anything - we won the league.
Don't know what has got into you?
He's done it mate!

You've won the league mate, he has achieved what hasn't been achieved in over two decades!

And you're still talking about him like he's just finished 6th.

Even from my perspective as a Spurs fan, your stance on Arteta is beyond comprehension.

Agreed, also with Pep buggering off, none of the other clubs look like getting near them.

If they nail down a proven goal scorer, the goons could win a few titles on the bounce....:emoticon-0119-puke:

Hard to project too much in the future as football changes rapidly. Who would have thought Liverpool would have tailed off this much after winning the league last season and spending £450m in the Summer?

I actually think the league will be a bit more open and there will be multiple different teams winning the league over a 5-10 year period, as opposed to having 1 dominant team like we've had for the past decade.

Yup its kinda sad when people cant admit to being wrong.

Meh, couldn't care less what you or anyone thinks. People can rate Arteta all they want I don't like him and I don't rate him. When he wins another significant trophy then my stance on him will soften, its as simple as that. Luck is what got us over the line not skill or talent of the manager.

If I was wrong I would say I was wrong, seen enough bollox from him to say we were lucky this season, lets see him win something not being lucky! Win the CL and I will change my opinion. Win a second Prem title and I will change my opinion.

And people are having difficulty understanding there is a difference between not rating a manager - which I don't in this case but being happy we won the league - which I am in this case.

You rate him, fine, I dont.

I agree - I think the tightening of PSR and the charges being handed out to teams is already having an effect and we will see more teams challenging.
Should have happened years ago - City and Chelsea basically destroyed football for nearly 2 decades before the league finally decided to take some action.
None of the trophies won by Chelsea or City over that time should be recognised.

Hopefully we get back to the league being as it was before all the fraud.
That means lower points totals for the top clubs as they can be beaten quite regularly by mid table and lower table clubs.
An away game in the PL for a top club against a bottom half club should be a close to a 50/50.

You're an embarrassment mate. Not a fan.

Finished 80+ pts three Seasons now - thats consistent, nothing lucky about it. You don't win the League by luck.

Selling yerself short I think.

Win the CL and the added confidence will elevate the squad further.

Should be the team to beat next season imo

I ****ing hope SOMETHING is actually done about City and their ever present blank cheque-book. Maresca shouldn't be allowed to play fantasy football this Summer.
