No Ireland's economy boomed because they borrowed so much money, that's why it's now collapsed and is having to be bailed out by the EU
High taxes on revenue that threaten businesses are an issue, high taxes on profits seem to not be discussed much. Taxes should also be raised on unearned income before people reach pensionable age. It is lunacy that people can make money simply by having wads of money in the bank, that they use to gamble on the stockmarket with, because their great grandfather was a movie star, or owned a business or a small county. We still very much have an aristocracy, they have just got smart and stopped calling themselves Lords and Ladies and talking with a posh accent.
