I was about to say the same thing ... just far less eloquently.

Reading my Global Financial Markets book by Stephen Valdez and it pretty much says what you wrote.

There is no way Arsenal would gamble away their operating budget, that is the stupidest suggestion I have seen and beggars belief than any of you actually believed it.

Think about it .. it was unscrupulous greedy banks that put us where we are today. Check this film out if you haven't seen it already: "Inside Job" ... you will want to punch a banker, trust me. Reviewed here on the Guardian's site http://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2011/feb/20/inside-job-charles-ferguson-review

Do any of you seriously think that the company you work for right now would gamble it's operating budget in the Financial Markets ??? Get real.

I'm not sure what is going on to be honest, I mean, maybe Wenger is being hamstrung by the board, but if that is the case Wenger should just say we don't have money to spend then we would know, none of this bullshine about we will buy players and not buy anyone. The board need to make a statement because we shouldn't put up with this. If we, the fans, are being fleeced by the board which is what it seems like we need to stand up to them and vote with our pockets, not turn up for the next home game.

Its time Arsenal fans stood up and made a proper stand against what is going on behind the scenes. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it is the board doing all this, Dein didn't like them and neither did Lady Nina Bracewell.

You might be a bit of a ballbag at times, but you're right here. This is utter ****e; more bollocks to shift criticism away from Wenger.

How interesting! I wonder if Arsenal is the only team facing those massive daunting issues, probably not.

When the ftse100/other equity markets go down then the bond markets rise. All bond market investments are diversfied these portfolios have become more valuable as people take flight from equities (i.e. stocks/shares/ftse100). Trust me, I know about this.

    This is correct
The average fan knows and cares little of this ... It's great however that this is exposed via SM ... A lot more secrets will emerge via the new media outlets

    Technology will expose so much

I don't believe that story at all. Where did Arsenal get so much money to invest and why would they put it all into one investment. The story is made-up rubbish.

Can any of the Arsenal fans coming on here tell us what IS going on at Arsenal then. Me thinks your manager has lost the plot. I have never ever known a manger not to spend money that was available. Something clearly is not right. Pity, I use to love watching Arsenal play that one touch football, but they have been getting worse and worse over the last few years. How is it that even the dog in the street knows that Arsenal need a big English CB and a hard tackling (Barton type) CM. Why can Wenger not see this. It is really incredible.
