I've not posted this on the Arsenal board as I dont want any abuse and i doubt theyd take me seriously but as I've explained before all of my family are Gooners and at a family gathering we had an interesting chat. One of my cousins in particular has connections at Arsenal (always has done) and two main things came out:

- RVP off to United - From what he said this is nailed on. He sees RVP quite often although doesn't know him personally

De Jong negotiating with Arsenal and Personal Terms agreed - This is likely but not nailed on like RVP.

I actually defended Arsenal and said they'd get top 4, which I believe they will do

Selling RVP to United would be very galling . From fierce rivals to selling them our best player. Just hope Juve come back in with a very good bid and we get it over with.

I doubt we are getting de Jong though I don't rate him personally for the simple reason that he won't fit in with our style of play. Rvp I hope goes to juv thoug I simply want him gone irrespective of where he goes.

RVP will flop everywhere else mark my words. One excellent season makes everyone think he's the best but quite frankly, he's not. Can't see him doing well anywhere other than Arsenal.

Hey DL

Would be disappointed if RvP went to Man United. It's not good news if we're strengthening a team in the same league as us and it would be difficult to swallow to see Robin in a United shirt - besides, it would prevent Welbeck and Hernandez from developing.

With all due respect DL, I do have to question the authenticity of the source because I can't seem to recall the last player we sold to Manchester United and I don't feel Wenger would allow it to happen. He's never done business with Fergie - apart from Silvestre, which was a truly insane acquisition.

And don't you think that would be the final straw with the fans? The fans would be in uproar and it could lead to a mass protest outside the Emirates if we sell our best player to one of the Manchester clubs.

Many of the fans are already questioning the ambition of the board, as our AST (Arsenal Supporters Trust) survey results show - I believe this would be the final nail in the coffin.

As for de Jong - well, I think he's a good player, but in Wenger's eyes would be surplus to requirements at the moment. I wouldn't be disappointed if the news was true, as he is a very decent player, with the tendency to be a little over aggressive at times which is my only worry. And he may have to take wage cut if he is going to join us.

My Cousin sees RVP quit often in the VIP section. I only caught the tail end of the conversation but the gist of it was that he was meant to be chauffeured to VIP and didn't show up because he went to have talks with United. He's absolutely sure it's happening. If he's wrong he's wrong but this info he knows first hand.

It was reported a while ago that RVP was looking around Hale, Manchester at property but at the time everybody thought he was off to City. If that's accurate it could explain things. Reportedly (according to the press) Juve have dropped out of the race to sign him and he doesn't want to go to City.

Personally (this is my opinion) he's off to Manchester. Not sure whether it's City or United but it doesn't look good for you guys who im sure would hate to see him go to another PL club

Would love to see RVP at United but I think he will carry on at Arsenal at least to the January transfer window, and this De Jong your talking about could be Nigel or Luuk (guessing its Nigel though) but they already have Song, Diaby returning to fitness and Wilshere hopefully back in october so dont see it happening really.

I have reserved my bed in the cock clinic, just in case you are right, DL, about RvP going to United.

It's always a matter of opinion, of course, but I really cannot see Arsenal finishing top 4 this coming season, not without RvP, and with Walnut's contract negotiations still unresolved.
