Not mine mate, found it on google! It was taken when Lacazette scored the 3rd goal in the 4-2 win against Spurs in this fixture last season. What a moment it was! I loved the passion from the players too.
Was a brilliant game that one. Everybody expected us to lose and we completely dicked them. We also scored some very good goals too. Praying that emery starts Torreira in MF and both Lacazette and Aubameyang up front. We need to play our best team and get right at Spurs from the off. They are having a bit of a crisis of confidence atm, and we shouldn't give them any room to build up a head of steam in this game. If we go at them at get an early goal, then I think they could crumble.
It was one of the best derbies in recent years. It had everything. Penalties, dives, red cards, scuffles, great attacking, questionable defending, lots of comebacks and, above all else, an absolutely electric atmosphere. I went through so many different emotions during the game, but I was thrilled we ended up being on the winning side. Especially as in the build-up Dim Tim said there's not a single Arsenal player who'd make it into a combined XI and most pundits anticipated us to get battered . My worry, however, is that when we've been expected to win the derby in the last few years, we've not always delivered. We drew 1-1 with them at home on 3 consecutive occasions (2014/15, 2015/16 & 2016/17) when we were expected to win all 3. The following year after, we were underdogs heading into the game, given Spurs had (finally) usurped us and we were regressing. Yet we won 2-0, and everyone put a fantastic shift in. Even last season, a lot of Arsenal fans were a bit apprehensive heading into the game, several of whom were sure we would lose, and we ended up winning. This time around, we definitely will not be underdogs. And with all the negativity and confusion at Spurs right now, we will be expected to win. I hope we can deliver a crushing blow to their confidence this early on, but let's see. I'm yet to be convinced by our defensive resolve.
If we can beat them on Sunday we go 5 points ahead of them, which is quite some gap given that we will only have played 4 games. You could also argue that it's so early in the season that it doesn't have much significance, but a 5 point gap and beating our biggest rivals would be a massive statement. That said, if we lose they go above us .....
Harry Winks sideways pass masterclass incoming. You lads should be bricking it. We're so confident that we'll also drop our best CB and best player, because everything is absolutely fine.
Arsenal need to have Auba playing from the left as Spurs are very vulnerable in the RB position . Just think if you win and the internet rumours are right for once Piskie could be ecstatic as Poch slopes off into the sunset .
Just to get us all in the mood for the game and to maybe ease our tension, here are some of the best goals from the NLD over the years:
I normally go to this game but can’t today as need to take my brother out for the day (he is in a care home) so instead taking him to the pub to watch it - actually he is a lucky omen for our games
Leno, Maitland-Niles, Sokratis, Luiz, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Torreira, Guendouzi, Pepe, Aubameyang, Lacazette Not sure about that midfield. How Ceballos has been dropped is baffling to me.
Frustrating half of football. Xhaka has been useless, get him off for Ceballos or Ozil, at least they will offer something and not give away pointless fouls.
2-2 Could have easily won this game. Miseed alot of opportunities. A few thoughts.. Xhaka - We've long argued back and fourth about just how good the guy really is. Some rate him some don't. In all honesty he's decent but we need better. He's simply quite average. Pepe - Soo many nice touches, carries the ball well but his end product has been poor. He needs to improve. Ceballos - Struggling to adjust to the pace and getting caught out a few times but you can just see the guy has real quality. I think he will get better over the Season. Kolasinac - Shouldnt really ever play in a back four. Sokratis - Bit of a liabilty but you gotta love him. Always gives 100% Luiz - errr... Well lets just say we need Holding back.
