They are playing with two strikers, both Soldado and Ade. Will be interesting to see if this opens up the middle of the park, if it does i can see us attacking with pace and them hitting us on the counter often, may be quite an open game.
Maybe Wenger thinks Kosc has better form when he stays constantly in the team but Mert is able to slot in and out easily? And so its with forthought that Mert has been rested? Or maybe he has a small knock or illness or something, who knows!
There goes the "balance" Arsene talks about really. We might win still, but this is the most unbalanced team we've fielded this season. Our front 5 are so similar and so light weight as well.
I think Sp*rs have made a mistake as it looks as if they'll be playing 4-4-2. Leaves them outnumbered in midfield, hopefully we can take advantage if they decide to press high up the field...
It is strange that Merts is being rested. Even so, that is a solid back-line. My concern is that Fabianski isn't very vocal as a goalkeeper. Going to really need Arteta, Rosicky & Wilshere to aid the back line in this game.
I was listening to 5 live earlier and they were giving out some of the attendance's.Only 25,000 were expected at Newcastle. It's not many years ago that 3rd round day was one of the biggest days in the football calendar. What a sad state of affairs things have come to.
